Hello Racing fans and welcome back to a brand new week! I have 6 selections for you to get stuck into for Tuesday’s racing. Just to mention - there is now a weekly recap show, where I will review all of my selections from the previous week! Head over to my YouTube channel to check that out.
Below are my selections, and I advise backing these in a win Lucky63 with an extra single on my NAP. Thank you for all of your support so far, and don't forget to check out my socials @gingerjoeracing on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube & Facebook for daily updates!
J: Kevin Stott / T: Fred Watson
STAR CITIZEN is one I'm backing for win or each way purposes here. He has been off a similar mark for a little while now and has been given a chance by the handicapper especially in what looks like a weak contest. He hasn't had his head in front for a while now but I like his chances here and I am a fan of Fred Watson as a trainer.
He does well with the limited resources he has available to him. STAR CITIZEN only finished 4 lengths back of Mr Wagyu who won the big handicap at the weekend so he does have some nice form. His best run to date however was actually here in May where he finished a length back in fourth over 6 furlongs which would put him in good stead in this race. He enjoys it here and the drop back to 5 furlongs will suit him also.
He’s a tough one to catch but if he comes here on best form he is not without a chance against some out of form rivals. Kevin Stott gets the ride and he has won on him before and he looks very good for each way value here with a lot going for him.
J: Jim Crowley / T: Charles Hills
MORAWETH showed plenty of promise on his first two runs on a racetrack but was disappointing on his latest two occasions where he was stepped up to 1m2f finding it a bit of a stretch for him at this stage. He drops back to a mile this time and should be able to resume with some progression as these Charlie Hills types tend to at this age.
He is a little behind in his progress time wise but clearly open to more improvement and I think the evidence early on backs this up. It’s fair to say I'm taking a slight chance on him but he will only get this one as everything on paper looks set for him here to at least go close. This makes the 7/1 look like great value!
J: Jim Crowley / T: Charles Hill
REWAAYAT to me was an unlucky loser last time out. A nice type who always runs his race was unusually slow out of the stalls last time and raced freely throughout making it a tough job for Jim Crowley. This being said he finished off his race really well and was only a length or two behind the eventual winner.
He was sent off at 5/4 that day and I am willing to put a line through that performance and give this regularly consistent type another shot at getting back to winning ways. He is a 6y-o but still open to improvement for sure and usually travels very powerfully. He is well treated in this handicap and with him ticking a lot of boxes the 7/2 on offer is just too big, No excuses this time and I think he is the one to beat.
J: Hector Crouch / T: Ralph Beckett
HELVETIQUE is another short priced horse I like for Tuesdays racing, however one I think gets the job done and would be a fine addition to the Lucky 63 for multiple purposes. He has run just the two times so far for the Ralph Beckett stable who are in fine form and comes here off the back of an impressive victory last time out over 6 furlongs at Chepstow. He has only run twice to date so far and likely to get further in time.
However, he carries plenty of ability and this looks like a great opportunity for him to double his winning tally. He has two main market rivals who I don't think are as good as HELVETIQUE, but as they look progressive, they may help budge the price out of my selection a little bit. This being said I am happy with the 13/8 on offer and think he is open to major improvement. He will relish these conditions.
J: Clifford Lee / T: K R Burke
ENTWISTLE out of the Karl Burke stable looks potentially classy and clearly has a bright future. This is only a 5 runner handicap and he is only 13/8 in the betting but I think he is excellent value for it. His Dam bred some really good sprinters and this is another going the right way. He finished fourth on debut and built on it next time out to finish runner up to a very good horse who has gone on to win a further two races on the bounce since, both in better class than this.
ENTWISTLE was as impressive himself last time out where he won over C&D and didn't get the clearest run but still managed to win comfortably. He looks very promising and the 13/8 holds plenty of value.
J: Hollie Doyle / T: Marco Botti
NUSHAFREEN is my Nap selection for Tuesday's racing and I think she has a massive chance in this fillies handicap. I think she could take some stopping if she resumes progression here. She didn’t show much in her three previous starts however she was highly tried and wasn't overly disgraced in the process.
She was markedly better last time out and looked like she may be starting to get the hang of things after a few less enthusiastic efforts. She finished 3rd on her latest start and stuck to her task well in the process and was quite strong through the finishing line. This was a decent event at Windsor and I think she is going to get a lot better for that run. No idea what level she can get too, but she's definitely open to some significant improvement which makes me think she’s overpriced at 6’s.
Faces some decent in form rivals but under Hollie Doyle I think this filly will give her very best running. I think there is a very big run likely and comes from powerful connections. Very underestimated here - make the most of it!
