It’s Saturday which means I have produced another Lucky 15 bet for you across today’s ITV Racing action. The four horses selected come from either Newbury, Newmarket or Ripon and all four of the runners are at each way prices which I think offer tremendous value. I believe all four can outrun their odds and in the rest of this article, I’ll be breaking down why.

These four horses can outrun their generous odds!
With these Lucky 15 bets played Each Way, you want horses that will at least run into the frame but ideally win. Looking at how the bet is structured, even multiple horses placing can pay handsomely, even if they don’t win. If they can win, it’s even better of course and hopefully that will be the case! In the following sections, I’ll break down why I like these four selections today.
Rhythm N Hooves @ 13/2 - He can defend his crown off a 9lb lower handicap mark!
Remarkably, despite winning this exact race nicely last year and being raised from 87 to 91 for doing so, Rhythm N Hooves now comes back to defend his crown off a mark of just 78. That is 9lb lower than the mark he had for the race last year and 12lb lower than the mark he had after last year’s race.
The win here last year was his sole effort at Newbury, so he is 1/1 here. Both of his turf wins have come on Good to Firm ground as well, so he should relish these quicker conditions. There should be a strong gallop to sit behind and aim at with Regal Envoy, Kanishka, Hucklesbrook and Seven Questions all likely to contribute to a strongly run race.
Trainers are creatures of habit and this could have been a long term plan for this horse. His latest effort at Ascot can be marked up too, as he was drawn the wrong side and that run showed me enough promise to suggest his turn should be coming soon.
Strike @ 5/1 - A race for those who love grey horses!
The grey horse handicap is a fan favourite as most of us love a grey! As the name suggests, the grey horse handicap only allows horses that are grey to enter, so we have a whole field full of them!
Strike ticks the box in terms of being grey and has run in four previous renewals of this race, so it’s clearly one they like to target with him. He won the 2022 renewal and overall, he has produced form figures of 1626 off marks of 67, 70, 75 and 72. Therefore, back down to a handicap mark of 70 now, he must have every chance of being involved.
The fact he comes here in winning form after winning at Newbury last month and has the jockey booking of the young superstar - Billy Loughnane, only strengthens his case.
Christian David @ 6/1 - This horse is handicapped to strike!
Richard Hannon managed to get two wins out of Christian David last season, with those victories coming off handicap marks of 88 and 90 respectively. The former win also came at this track, which is an added bonus. That being said, he is attractively handicapped here at 86 and if he’s on a going day, he is capable of striking off that mark.
Interestingly Pat Dobbs has been booked to ride here. He is operating at an eye-catching 20% strike rate for Richard Hannon this year with 14 winners from 69 rides. Of the 69 rides, 34 have finished in the first four, which is an impressive percentage of 49%. If you would have backed every horse that Pat Dobbs has ridden for Richard Hannon this year to a ÂŁ1 level stake, you would be showing a fantastic profit of +ÂŁ30.18.
With the reduced handicap mark and the booking of Pat Dobbs, I think Christian David can outrun his odds here and is well up to winning this if he’s in the mood.
Eye Of Dubai @ 25/1 - This horse loves Ripon and should relish the return to this track!
John & Sean Quinn’s Great St Wilfrid Handicap runner - Eye Of Dubai - caught my eye at a big price. He has a fantastic record at Ripon with form figures of 121 off handicap marks of 84, 85 and 87. Therefore, returning to this track off a mark of 85, he looks to have a lovely chance of putting his best foot forward. Certainly a far better chance than his odds of 25/1 would suggest.
Eye Of Dubai does not do a great deal when he hits the front, so he wants a strong gallop to travel behind to then deliver late. I would expect I’m Next and It Just Takes Time to make the running here, as both like to lead. Hopefully they’ll take one another on to set the strong gallop that we want. That looks even more likely as Dark Cloud Rising, Khafiz, Kodiac Thriller, Brighton Boy and even Fast Track Harry and Lord Roxby can all race prominently, so at least some of those names should keep them honest in front.
The one concern that I have is that I believe he’s a better horse with some rain soaked into the ground. However, at the price and considering he has won on Good ground previously, I’m willing to take a chance. If he doesn’t fire on the quicker ground and we get some rain in the next month, I could see him returning here again as he’s won at Ripon in September the last two years!
Can our four runners all hit the frame or even win their races?
As I have already covered, I would be happy enough if all four were to hit the frame for us. It goes without saying that a win would be even better but it’s always a big ask to hit a full house of winners. They all have some questions to answer though:
- Can Rhythm N Hooves bounce back to last year’s winning form?
- Can Strike maintain his winning form from last time to regain this race?
- Will Christian David bounce back to form with Pat Dobbs in the saddle?
- Will Eye Of Dubai handle the forecast quicker ground?
I think they all have a great chance of positively answering these questions hanging over them. At the prices, I’m certainly willing to find out anyway, especially with Eye Of Dubai at 25/1. If nothing else, I’m sure this Lucky 15 will provide us with plenty of entertainment and if it can provide a profit too, even better.
