Following on from my guide to each way betting earlier this week, today I’m back with a betting tip for you. There’s a total of six meetings today, at Lingfield, Thurles, Warwick, Wincanton, Newcastle and Southwell. But It’s a mare running at Warwick who has caught my attention, and she will be my main bet for today.
If you’re new to my content, I’m RacingGav and I’m the resident horse racing expert here at Betting.co.uk and I publish several articles every week. Most are betting tips, both daily and antepost. However, you’ll also come across educational guides, big race trends and results updates. I also intend to focus more on trending racing topics, and bring you my thoughts on some potentially controversial subjects.
If you’d like to see more betting tips today, be sure to check out my existing antepost articles. Those include selections for the King George VI Chase which runs at Kempton on Boxing Day, plus selections for the 2026 Cheltenham Festival and the 2026 Grand National, where you'll find selections at value prices.
At the time of writing, 5/1 is widely available for Crazierthandaisy, so today’s bookie pick comes down to two factors. Firstly, I regularly post odds for the big name bookmakers, so I’d like to highlight a lesser-known brand. Secondly, today’s bookie recommendation has a fantastic new customer sign up offer currently up for grabs. If you sign up and bet £10, get £30 of free bets as a reward.
If we were to fast forward 12 months, I think Crazierthandaisy will be rated significantly higher than 110. She is a mare that will be popular with breeders, being a daughter of Walk In The Park, but I think there is plenty of fun to be had with this six-year-old mare on the track first. Ironically, the better she performs, the more desirable she will be as a brood mare. Obviously I can’t predict her future, so for now I’ll focus on today’s race, and (most importantly) why I believe she can win it.
Course form is great, but course and distance form is an even bigger bonus. As I covered in my Horses for Courses guide, every racecourse is different and while a certain track will suit one horse, it may hinder another. So knowing for sure that your horse will act at a particular track is a big advantage. Crazierthandaisy ticked this box with a C&D (course and distance) win back in December of last year.
Interestingly that form has worked out quite nicely. The horse who came in second that day, Come On Nia, won off a mark of 106 at Aintree in May. She is not the only winner to come from the race either. Fourth placed Realta Liath made a winning Chase debut earlier this month. In addition, the horses who placed fifth, sixth, tenth and eleventh have all won since, with two of them winning twice.
What I also find promising is that Crazierthandaisy has a very solid record when fresh. She was beaten less than a length on her Bumper debut. Then after an 80-day break, she won her second Bumper.
Following a 224-day break over the summer of 2024, she ran a solid second on her Hurdles debut about this time last year. She went on to produce identical RPRs when placing second and winning on her next two starts. Following an 87-day break she ran at Wetherby where she finished third. Arguably she should have won that day, but she made an awful mistake at the last.
It’s also worth noting that Crazierthandaisy is only a six-year-old with just five Hurdle runs in her career to date. In the grand scheme of things, she is pretty unexposed, and open to plenty of improvement. Add to that Nicky Henderson reporting that she has grown considerably over the summer, and it all bodes well.
Trainer Nicky Henderson had a slower than normal start to the 2025/26 National Hunt season. In the last five seasons, he has recorded nine, five, three, four and four winners respectively during October. However, this October he produced zero winners from eleven runners, amassing just £6,136.00 in prize money! However, he did have an excuse, explaining that the dry weather has limited how much work he could do with his horses.
As winter approaches, we’ve seen more rain, and Nicky’s form has lifted as the horses become fitter. He has already recorded six winners from thirty one runners for November, which is a healthy strike rate of 19%. He has also recorded nine second places, which means that 48% of his November runners have finished in the first two. If you include third places, 61% of his November runners finished in the top three. So he’s certainly starting to find his form which is great news for Crazierthandaisy.
I have high hopes for significant improvement from Crazierthandaisy this year. When you consider her C&D win, her record fresh, and her physical progress over the summer she could start her season with a bang. Added to that, her stable are starting to fire now after a slow start to the season.
On the negative side, backing a horse the first time out is always a risk, as Crazierthandaisy may need this run fitness wise. However, I feel that is somewhat negated by her good record when fresh, suggesting she is easier to get fit than some others. She was also rather underwhelming at Punchestown on her final start of last season. But it can be forgiven quite easily due to the fact the trip was on the short side, the ground was a little fast, and it was a very valuable and competitive race.
With the improvement expected, the step back up in trip, a return to softer ground and her proven C&D form, there is a lot to like about Crazierthandaisy today. While three places are available with a few bookmakers, I’m playing win only here just in case she needs the run. Likewise, I’m trimming the stake down slightly from 1pt to 0.75pt.

If you don’t already have an account with any of them, I would highly recommend that you take a closer look at their offers and make the most of the value they provide.
