Betting tips are back today! If you were searching for free horse racing tips from me on Tuesday or Wednesday, you would have been disappointed. Unfortunately, I was struck down with a sickness bug that had me out of action for three days. On the bright side, I am back now and there was my horse to follow for June 2026 to keep you occupied in the meantime. Normal service will now be resumed, starting with this article.

While many of you will be regular readers, for some of you, this will be your first visit. I’m RacingGav and I have been the resident horse racing expert here at Betting.co.uk since March 2025. My professional tipping career dates back to February 2022, when I started operating on X under RacingGav. For my actual punting start point, it’s well over 12 years ago now!

In terms of the content you will find here, it is primarily daily betting tips like this one, antepost selections, and on Saturdays, a Lucky 15 covering the action hosted by ITV Racing! I also produce big race trends, educational guides and horses and trainers to follow each month. My horse to follow in June is already live and the trainers to follow this month will be coming soon!

Betting advice

  • 17:22 Hamilton - Dandy’s Angel @ 10/1 (4 places) - 0.5pt each way

William Hill has the best odds and place terms

At the time of writing, one of the bookmakers offering the best horse racing odds for Dandy's Angel is William Hill. But what makes them stand out is their place terms. While most bookies are paying the standard three places, William Hill is paying four, without compromising on the odds. Better still, if you open a new account and bet £10 you’ll get £30 of free bets. This is currently one of the best deals around, so don’t miss out.

This looks to be the ideal opportunity for Dandy’s Angel!

The key to winning is often about finding the right races. I’m not convinced that the 1m 0.5f at Beverley was what Dandy’s Angel needed at this stage of her career, but it has left her handicapped to strike!

Dandy’s Angel is now 13lb below her last winning mark

To win a Handicap, you need a horse that’s well handicapped and I certainly believe that Dandy’s Angel is. Her latest win was less than 12 months ago in July 2025. That was at Beverley over a trip of 1m 2f, and despite being slowly into stride, she won strongly off a mark of 62, which is 13lb higher than her current mark of 49.

That race was a Class 5 (0-75) Handicap, but today, she competes in a much easier Class 6 (0-55) Handicap. While she is pretty versatile, I think she is also at her best with some juice underfoot, so I think that Beverley win can be marked up considering it was on Good to Firm ground. She has been more miss than hit since but in fairness to her, she has been on a high mark. Back in September 2024, she was winning off 52 but after further wins, she found herself rated in the mid 60’s. However, she has since tumbled her way back down and looks handicapped to strike.

Dandy’s Angel won over C&D winner off a 3lb higher mark

As well as a decent mark, you need a suitable course and distance. As a general rule, Dandy’s Angel runs very well up at Hamilton with overall form figures of 0245233103, especially considering that those performances have come off marks of 68, 59, 57, 53, 52, 62, 54, 52, 63 and 58. For context, those marks range from 3lb to 19lb higher than her current mark of 49.

If you limit those runs to over this 1m 4f trip, her form figures read 413 with marks of 57, 52 and 58, which are all between 3lb and 9lb higher than her current mark. Interestingly, all three of those performances were on Soft going and as mentioned, I think she prefers juice in the ground. The current going is Good, Good to Firm in places but there is around 10mm of rain forecast, which could have quite an impact on the ground come race time. In my opinion, the more rain the merrier for her, and Scotland definitely sees plenty!

This track suits Dandy’s Angel, especially the stiff finish

Hamilton is quite a quirky racecourse. Over the 1m 4f trip, you actually run away from the winning line to begin with. You take a steady rise to the left before it becomes more testing uphill around a bend to the right. You then come around the bend back into the home straight and start racing downhill. Many horses can start racing too soon, which sees them come unstuck in the final three furlongs where there’s a steep climb to the finish.

Given the nature of the track, you tend to get course specialists and it’s a big bonus that Dandy’s Angel has experience and winning form here. She is a hold up horse that can sometimes start her races slowly. Therefore, she needs a strong pace and/or a stiff finish to hit top gear and reel in her rivals. She certainly has the stiff finish here at Hamilton and I think she could have the strong pace to aim at as well. Looking at the field, I expect Uncle Liam and Hijo De La Luna to go forward, with Ivynator close behind and if they take each other on, even better.

Between the stiff finish and hopefully some ease in the ground, this 1m 4f at Hamilton will take plenty of getting and as they all start to struggle late on, Dandy’s Angel will be powering home off her reduced handicap mark.

Can Dandy’s Angel return to winning ways?

There are plenty of positives for Dandy’s Angel today. She is now incredibly well handicapped at a career-low mark of 49. That is 13lb below her last winning mark and 4lb lower than her C&D win. She has also finished third and fourth over C&D off 8lb and 9lb higher. Her track experience and winning form here are also huge advantages given the quirky nature of the track. She should once again relish the stiff finish and the longer trip, with the forecast rain in her favour too.

In terms of negatives, she is a nine-year-old with 92 runs on her record. So there is plenty of mileage on the clock and she is down to the mark that she is because she has been out of form. There is a chance that she simply doesn’t have the ability any more, or as sometimes happens with older mares, they can just sour and not want to race anymore. With two runs under her belt this campaign, the step back up in trip, a suitable track and forecast rain, she will have no excuses today.

All things considered, I think she is worth playing at her current price, but in recognition of the fact she’s out of form and getting older, I’m only prepared to play half stakes here. If the rain falls as forecast, I wouldn’t be surprised to see her shorten significantly ahead of the race.

There is great value on offer with these deals!
