Horse Racing Betting Tips - Wednesday 13 May 2026 - Yarmouth

Publish Date: 13/05/2026

Key Points
  • Today’s betting tip is now 1lb below his C&D win mark
  • He loves fast ground, so he has his perfect conditions today
  • There should be a strong pace which will suit his style perfectly

There is some fantastic horse racing action taking place today! We have three Jumps meetings at Perth, Punchestown and Newton Abbot, and three on the Flat at York, Yarmouth and Bath. Although the feature meeting is the Dante Festival at York, I've picked one at Yarmouth for today’s betting tip. I believe the 9/1 available for this previous C&D winner is too good to ignore.

If you are reading my content for the first time, I’m RacingGav and I've been the resident horse racing expert at Betting.co.uk since March 2025, where I provide a mix of daily and antepost tips. Alongside my free horse racing tips, I also produce other types of content inluding horses and trainers to follow, big race trends and educational guides.

If you would like to dip your toe into my educational guides, a good starting point is betting fundamentals, then understanding the UK Handicap System if you want something more racing-specific.

Betting advice

  • 14:40 Yarmouth - Rocking Ends @ 9/1 (4 places) - 0.75pt each way

William Hill has the best odds and place terms

At the time of writing, William Hill is offering the best horse racing odds for Rocking Ends at 9/1, plus there are four places available. In addition, if you sign up as a new customer and bet £10 you’ll get £30 of free bets. Make sure you check this out if you don’t already have an account.

Rocking Ends can return to the UK with a bang!

Rocking Ends was competing in Bahrain from December to February. Yarmouth will be his first race since he arrived back in the UK, and I think he can make a winning return.

Rocking Ends is now 1lb below his C&D win mark

Rocking Ends recorded three wins from May to September last year. The first of those was at Newmarket off a mark of 80, which was then followed up two runs later by a win at Windsor off 83. The cherry on top for his season was a C&D win off a mark of 90.

He then had a spin on the All Weather, where he was below his best, and was subsequently put away for 89 days. Rather than having a full winter and spring break, they decided to send him to Bahrain for a Middle East campaign from December through to February. He was 0/4 over there, but he ran some creditable races in defeat.

On his final run on the All Weather at Southwell in September, he was rated 93. After that run, and his four runs in Bahrain, he is now rated 1lb lower than when he won here at Yarmouth previously. And I believe he has every chance of repeating that success.

Rocking Ends loves fast ground, so he has his perfect conditions today

The key to Rocking Ends is good going. Five of his six wins on Turf have been on Good to Firm going and the other came on Good. Whilst he has only run on Good to Soft twice and Heavy once, those runs were all very poor. So he should absolutely relish the Good to Firm, Good in places going at Yarmouth today.

Speaking of perfect conditions, I also find it interesting that Daniel Muscutt has only ridden Rocking Ends on three times, and two of those were his last two wins. He is now reunited with Rocking Ends and that looks to be a major positive, given that he clearly gets on well with the horse.

Rocking Ends has raced twice at Yarmouth previously, resulting in a win and a place. He clearly enjoys himself here and likes this 5f trip where his record is one win from one run, with his place being over six furlongs.

There should be a strong pace which will suit his style perfectly

As a general rule, Rocking Ends is held up, which seems to bring out the best in him. It was only a small field of six here when he won going away back in August. He was still dropped in at the back, before he picked off his rivals and led for the final 110 yards.

If anything, a bigger field should help him today, as it gives him more opportunities to find cover. Most importantly though, is the pace in the race. Hold up horses need a strong pace to aim at, then they can finish powerfully and go past horses that are beginning to wilt. Whereas a slow race with a sprint finish leaves them too much to do. Given this bigger field, he may be able to sit midfield but remain covered.

The horses in this race today look like they will give Rocking Ends the perfect set up. Grandlad, Twilight Fun and Almaty Star all like to lead. Then Kinswoman, Naana’s Sparkle and Forager like to race right up behind the pace. Michaela’s Boy, Mesaafi and Alondra are often spotted racing prominently too. With so many wanting to go forward, this should be a relentless gallop, which would suit Rocking Ends perfectly.

Can Rocking Ends maintain his perfect C&D record?

I feel Rocking Ends has a strong chance here and certainly a better one than his 9/1 odds. He’s handicapped to strike off this mark of 89, considering it is 1lb lower than his course and distance win in August. He has the perfect ground conditions, so there will be no complaints on that front. He also has Daniel Muscutt aboard who rode him for his last two wins, so that is another positive. Most importantly, the pace should be strong, and set the race up perfectly for a hold up horse like Rocking Ends.

In terms of negatives, we haven’t seen Rocking Ends since Bahrain in February, so we are taking his fitness and wellbeing on trust. He has performed very strongly when fresh on previous occasions, which include two second places, and a win back in May 2024. I’m pretty confident they will have him ready to fire but I cannot be certain. The other niggling concern is that there is a little rain forecast. I’m hoping it doesn’t turn into a lot, and certainly not so much that it changes the going description. However, you never truly know with the British weather!

Given the case you can make for Rocking Ends, his 9/1 odds, and the four places available, I think he looks to be a fantastic each way bet. But given the niggling concerns over fitness and the weather, I’ve trimmed the stake down to 0.75pt each way.
