What a winner we enjoyed yesterday! Pallas Lord was backed in from 11/1 to 11/4 and won nicely, so our 0.5pt each way bet returned a lovely 7.6pts. Hopefully we can build on that with another winner today. Today’s betting tip runs for Christian Williams in the North Wales National Handicap Chase at Bangor-On-Dee. I’m advising a significant stake here, but I’m confident we will be rewarded.

At the time of writing, bet365 is offering the best value for Planned Paradise. They are offering the best horse racing odds at 5/1 and they also have a great sign up offer for new customers. If you bet £10, you’ll get £30 in free bets. With the 2026 Cheltenham Festival just around the corner, there’s no better time to sign up.
After his last race didn’t go according to plan, I think Planned Paradise can win this time. It’s an easier race, and jockey Jack Tudor will be rather keen to make amends.
Planned Paradise has been without a win since January 2025, when he landed a nice pot at Windsor under today’s jockey, Jack Tudor. That win at Windsor came off a mark of 107, and the form still looks strong, as five of the horses that came in behind him have clocked up nine wins between them since then.
He was held up at the back that day, and made steady headway as the race progressed into the latter stages. He moved into third three out, pressed the leader two out, and led at the last. He wasn’t fluent at the last, but he found plenty to stay on strongly up the run-in to win. He has now dropped to a mark of 98, which is 9lb below that Windsor win. He looks extremely well handicapped, and ready to deliver a win today, hopefully.
Trainer Christian Williams clearly had a repeat victory at Windsor in mind last month, but things didn’t go to plan, and Planned Paradise finished in sixth place. There was a big gamble on him at Windsor, I advised my Discord members to back him at 14/1 and he ended up being sent off at 100/30.
Jack Tudor rode him confidently and patiently in the rear of the field, just as he did the previous year. However, in a bigger field of 16 runners, compared to 11 the year before, he found himself running into trouble, and hitting the seventh last fence didn’t help his cause either.
After that, it all became a bit of a rush as the leaders dashed for the line. Although Planned Paradise stayed on, he was unable to make a real challenge. It’s always easy to say these things in hindsight, but I feel Jack Tudor should have worked his way into a better position much sooner. I think he underestimated those in front, and left Planned Paradise with too much to do. Hopefully he’ll be keen to make amends, and won’t be caught out this time around.
Planned Paradise carries just 10st 8lb here, and he receives weight from every runner in the field. This is particularly important given the testing conditions, which currently state Soft, Heavy in places, with further rain forecast.
The favourite here is Jacks Parrot, but I’m keen to take him on. He has only won two of his 16 starts over fences to date, he had a hard race just six days ago, and he carries 12 stone too. Carrying that much weight is tough for any horse in any race, but over this marathon trip and on the testing ground, I think it could be his downfall. Especially as he could still be feeling that recent run.
It’s not just Jacks Parrot carrying a big weight though. Four of the top five in the betting (Planned Paradise being the other) carry at least 11st 9lb, which will be a tough challenge in these conditions. I don’t think they’ll be able to give over a stone away to Planned Paradise and beat him here.
Planned Paradise is extremely well handicapped, at 9lb below his last winning mark. In addition, I think many of his runs since his latest win have been forgivable, over inadequate trips, or with an amateur jockey on board. All of which may have been to bring his mark down, so that they could strike again at a time of their choosing. His low weight of 10st 8lb and the fact he’s receiving weight from all of his rivals will also go in his favour.
In terms of the negatives, he is on an eleven race losing streak, despite having excuses for most of them. We also have the fact that he could only finish sixth last time out at Windsor in a race I think they targeted him. However, I think the jockey was largely to blame for that defeat.
I think Planned Paradise should run a massive race here. I’m sure Jack Tudor won’t be caught too far back again as he should be keen to make amends for Windsor here. If Jack has Planned Paradise in a reasonable position as they reach the business end, I think he’ll be passing all of his rivals in front of him up the home straight to win. Although there’s a risk of him bumping into one, I’ll be extremely disappointed and frankly shocked if he wasn't at least in the first three. With a price of 5/1 available, I’m having a very strong 2pt each way bet here.
