It’s been a quiet week for me as I’ve been away with the family following a busy period which included the 2026 Cheltenham Festival. However, I’m back with my two usual articles today, a Lucky 15 for the ITV Racing and a single betting tip. The Lucky 15 bets are great fun, and fantastic for the more casual punters who tune into my articles on the weekends.
If you’re just discovering my content on Betting.co.uk, then welcome! I have been the resident horse racing expert here since March 2025 and my main focus is bringing you free horse racing tips. Whether it's daily betting tips, antepost picks, or a fun Lucky 15 like this one, there should be something for everybody!
I don’t just provide betting tips, I also publish other types of content like big race trends and educational guides. If you haven’t seen any of the latter so far, a good place to start is my guide to betting fundamentals, or perhaps my article on different types of horse racing headgear, if you’re looking for something more advanced.
I have prioritised the strongest place terms over the best horse racing odds for our Lucky 15, and I’m recommending that you head for bet365 to place your bet. At the time of writing, they are offering place terms far superior to most other bookies. Furthermore, as a new customer you can claim a bonus too. If you bet £10, you’ll get £30 in free bets. That’s awesome value all round!

We have four horses at tasty prices today and just them running into the places in their respective races would pay handsomely. However, I’m hopeful we could enjoy some winners with these runners and in this article I’ll explain what makes them stand out.
The Brocklesby is arguably one of the hardest races to bet in as we have a 15-strong field of unraced two-year-olds. However, that just makes it all the more rewarding when you can find the winner! Whilst it’s no easy feat, the market doesn’t often get this race too wrong, with seven of the last ten winners returning a single figure price.
The runner that interests me in the 2026 edition of the Brocklesby is the Ralph Beckett trained Dance A Jig. This two-year-old colt is closely related to 7f winner, Dance In A Storm and is half-brother to a further six winners including two Black Types, namely Dancing Star and Foxtrot Lady. Lastly, his Dam, Strictly Dancing, won the Nunthrope, so Dance A Jig certainly ticks a lot of boxes on pedigree, which is the main information we have to work with.
Over the last five seasons, Ralph Beckett’s two-year-olds have a 21% strike rate on the Turf, with a remarkable 126 winners from 609 runners. Ralph has been quoted as saying that Dance A Jig is a “forward sort with the right pedigree for the task” and you certainly want a forward sort to be winning the Brocklesby. Amo Racing’s Blixen Force, and Richard Hannon’s A Bear Affair head the market, which is no surprise, given their success in recent renewals of the Brocklesby, but Dance A Jig could topple them both at a lovely each way price.
The very next race is the Cammidge Trophy Stakes (Listed Race) which is run over 6f. This is a ÂŁ60,000 race with nearly ÂŁ35,000 to the winner, and as a result, we have another competitive field of 12 lining up, all hoping to land this valuable and prestigious prize.
While the majority of the field are here on their seasonal reappearance, Annaf comes here with a recent run under his belt. Whilst I’m sure most will be ready to go first time out, a recent run could give Michael Appleby’s runner a fitness edge over his rivals here, which might be crucial.
It was only 18 months ago that Annaf was rated 114, which would have seen him the top rated runner here. While he is only rated 106 now, he is certainly capable on a going day. He won his final start in the UK, which came at Ascot in October, producing a very strong RPR of 114. His recent start came at Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), where he ran far better than his seventh place suggests, as he was repeatedly denied a clear run, but kept on inside the final furlong. He could be underestimated here at his current price.
For the third leg of our Lucky 15 we switch across to Kempton for the London Stayers’ Series Qualifier over 2m. Whilst only a qualifier for the valuable series final, this race itself is still worth £45,000 with over £23,000 to the winner, so it’s well worth winning in its own right!
Contrary to the market set up at the time of writing, the two that interest me the most here are the two outsiders of the field, both of which are trained by Ian Williams. Long term followers of mine will know that I’m a huge fan of Ian Williams and I think that the man is a genius when it comes to the placement of his horses, especially in valuable races. The two horses are Sheradann and Trojan Storm who are available at prices as big as 18/1 and 50/1 currently.
I suspect that Trojan Storm has been played around with the last three times over inadequate trips, and he could thrive over this proper staying trip judged on his victory over 1m 6f at Ascot in July. However, he may well be one that is simply better on the Turf. Therefore, I have landed on Sheradann who is the choice of David Egan and is proven over C&D. His C&D record reads 3210, representing the last two renewals of this series’ final, and a further run here in October where he won off the same mark of 89 as he runs off today.
After a quick switch across to Kempton, we revert to the action at Doncaster and the final leg of the Lucky 15 bet comes in the big one, the Lincoln! We have a cracker of a Lincoln on our hands here with a maximum field of 22 declared to run in this prestigious heritage handicap worth an incredible ÂŁ150,000 with over ÂŁ77,000 going to the winner.
The horse that I have landed on for this race is the Charles Hills’ trained Galeron. He came to this race last year and he finished fifth, beaten just two lengths by Godwinson after being sent off 33/1. He has a very tough mark then of 102 and he subsequently carried 9st 12lb, which was a big ask. This time around, he is rated just 95 and he subsequently shoulders a much more manageable 9st 3lb. In fact, with Jack Callan booked to ride and claiming 5lb, he’ll actually carry 8st 12lb, a whole stone lighter than last year.
It is also worth noting that he raced over this C&D a further twice throughout the season last year and ran big races in each of them. Firstly he came here in September off a mark of 94 and finished third, beaten just three lengths. Then on his final start of the season, he came here off a mark of 93 and he finished second, beaten less than a length and looked an unfortunate loser after being denied a clear run over 2f out. He is winless since September 2022 but this could be his big day!
At the prices quoted, just the three shortest priced selections finishing in the places would see us more than double our stake on this bet. If Sheradann could join the placing part at 20/1 too, we would see a return of nearly 13x .
Obviously the dream is to have winners rather than places, and a if that did happen, it would generate a 1,234x return. To give some context, a 50p each way Lucky 15 would cost ÂŁ15, with the potential to return ÂŁ18,516.66. This is a longshot of course, but you have to be in it to win it as they say!
Realistically, I think all four horses have a fantastic chance of running into the places at least, providing they get the rub of the green, which as always is a crucial ingredient when it comes to betting on horse racing. Hopefully you can join in with the bet and I hope it turns out well for you!
Here are five of our recommended bookmaker partners and the betting offers for horse racing they have up for grabs right now.
