Horse Racing Betting Tips - ITV Racing Picks - A Lucky 15 for Saturday 30 May 2026 - Carlisle

Publish Date: 30/05/2026
Fact checked by: Jordan Noble
Key Points
  • As it’s Saturday, I have a Lucky 15 for you!
  • All four of these races are free to watch over on ITV Racing!
  • All four runners come from Carlisle!

It’s Saturday which means it’s time for another Lucky 15! As usual, all four races will be shown on ITV Racing. Are you just reading one of my articles for the first time? If so, I’m RacingGav, the resident horse racing expert here at Betting.co.uk. Since March 2025, I have been publishing free horse racing tips which include daily bets, antepost picks, and Lucky 15s every Saturday.

Speaking of antepost betting, I already have a couple of selections live for next year. They are both huge prices as well - 50/1 and 66/1. I have an antepost play for the 2027 Aintree Grand National, and another for the Brown Advisory Novices Chase at the 2027 Cheltenham Festival.

Betting Advice - An Each Way Lucky 15

  • 13:30 Carlisle - Castle Stuart @ 8/1, 4 places
  • 14:00 Carlisle - Jordan Electrics @ 11/1, 4 places
  • 14:33 Carlisle - Washington Heights @ 11/2, 3 places
  • 15:45 Carlisle - Langstone @ 11/4, 5 places

William Hill is offering the best all round value!

As I write this article, the best horse racing odds for our Lucky 15 are available at William Hill. Plus, there are four, four, three and five places across the four races. The great value doesn’t  end there, as they have a superb offer for new customers. If you bet £10 you’ll get £30 of free bets. Fantastic all round value.

I feel I have found fantastic value!

I’m sweet on the chances of these four horses, I certainly feel they all have an outstanding chance of finishing in the frame. On the prices quoted, the average odds across the four horses is nearly 7/1! As regular readers will know, I’m not one to just pick out horses at the top of the market, I want value prices.

Castle Stuart @ 8/1 - This race looks perfect for him!

I love this race for Castle Stuart, especially the switch from Haydock to Carlisle. This horse first caught my eye in August last year when he deadheated for third in the Steve Birch Finale Handicap at York. The three were prominent throughout but Castle Stuart raced wide and in the rear of the field. Therefore, he was doubly inconvenienced but kept on powerfully to force a dead heat for third. If there was another 100 yards, he would have won.

Two runs later, he returned to York over the same C&D but he paid the price for doing the donkey work in front, weakening late on. Even still, he didn’t throw in the towel and was only beaten just over three lengths at the line. These two runs produced RPRs of 99 and 98 off a mark of 93 and a replication of that level of performance, would give him every chance off today’s reduced mark of 90.

It was a similar story last time out, back at York once again where he raced keenly and wide but was still only beaten just over three lengths. Down to this mark, he must have every chance and I think this extra half a furlong (1m 3f) and stiffer finish could perfectly play into his strong finishing style, providing he settles early on. At the price of 8/1, it’s worth taking that chance on him settling. Hopefully, Topteam goes forward and gives him a pace to sit behind and a target to aim at. He is also at his best on quicker ground and he has that here too.

Jordan Electrics @ 11/1 - I think 6f is his optimum trip!

At his peak, Jordan Electrics produced his best form over 5f - 5.5f. However, he also had winning form over 6f. Therefore, he showed he had both speed and stamina. This season they have been yo-yoing with him with four runs over 5f, 7f, 7f and 5f. They now seem to have seen the light and bring him to this middle ground of 6f. Given the four runs have seen him drop from 92 to 88, perhaps it has been an intentional plan.

If we look at his best form from last year, it was his York fifth, where he was only beaten one length at the line. That was on quick ground and over 6f, which is the conditions he gets today. He actually started to dispute the lead at halfway that day and took the race on 2f out, in hindsight that was likely too soon and with a more patient ride, he may well have won that day.

The best two runs this season were at Newmarket and Ascot over 7f. At Newmarket, he led over 1f out and was only headed inside the final 110yds. To his credit, he kept on but he couldn’t match Royal Velvet who won that day (tipped to the Discord members!). At Ascot, he pressed the leaders and was bang there but weakened inside the final furlong but was beaten less than four lengths at the line. To me, both races suggest this stiff 6f could be perfect for him, as is the quicker ground and I think he’s underestimated at 11/1.

Washington Heights @ 11/2 - The value play in this race!

I really rate Washington Heights and I think he has a great chance in this race. He is a C&D winner that has had excuses for the first two runs of this campaign. He’s already proven at the track unlike his rivals and I think he’ll relish the stiff finish here, where others could struggle with it. The top two in the market are less exposed but need to find improvement and there is no guarantee that they will. The best horse in the race is also returning from nearly a year out, so now is the perfect time to beat that one.

Washington Heights is also my main betting tip for today, so be sure to check out my full article on his race, which is already live. For those not familiar, on Saturdays I publish a Lucky 15 and my best bet for the day.

Langstone @ 11/4 - A progressive type with a mark that looks lenient

Last Saturday was very frustrating, as I actually put this horse up in this race (Silver Bowl) as one of my Lucky 15 selections. He was 9/1 at the time, which I thought was exceptional value and then he saw heavy market support. As it turned out, the race had to be abandoned due to issues with the track at Haydock.

The race has subsequently been rearranged and moved to Carlisle, hence why it features today. However, sadly the 9/1 for Langstone is nowhere to be seen and he actually heads the market here. Whilst there is less value in the price today, I still believe he has a great chance and if anything, this stiffer track could bring out even more improvement from him on this step up in trip.

For those who read last week’s Lucky 15 article, you will already know why I chose. So rather than repeating the same points again, for those of you not familiar, please check out my Lucky 15 from last week for the full case on Langstone.

Let's hope our recent success continues!

Ultimately, these Lucky 15 bets are for fun and entertainment as much as anything. Hence why they are on a Saturday only, where more of the casual punters get involved. Despite that, they are consistently returning a profit as we saw again last week. Frustratingly, we had two non-runners (one bad scope and one race abandoned) but the other two produced a win and a double figure place.

As usual, I’d be happy with four places and anything further is a bonus. That may sound pessimistic but even just four places would bring a return of nearly £60 from a 50p each way stake (£15), which is nearly a 4x return on the outlay. How could I not be happy with that and especially as it is fully realistic!

Would I love to land a full house of winners? Of course, that is the intention. If I could achieve that, it’s a £2,374.39 return off just £15 - Not bad, eh! The chances are slim but not without hope and you have to be in it to win it! One thing I can guarantee you is that you’ll never land a full house, if you never place any Lucky 15 bets.
