ITV is ready to plunge into the ever-evolving real money online gambling sphere in 2026, according to reports. Yes, it has emerged that ITV Win, which will be rebranded to ITV Win Bingo & Spins, therefore incorporating bingo and slot verticals into its product.
The site is currently in soft launch mode with tests being carried out. However, a full launch is expected next month, and Gibraltar-based venture Richmond Atlantic are involved in the operation.
Richmond, a start-up conceived by three industry veterans, which scales up iGaming brands, came through what has been described as a ‘competitive’ tender process to support the project. While there was no mention of the commercial aspect of the agreement, it is believed Richmond, who have a United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) license, will help with covering the initial set-up costs.
It is suggested that a five-year profit share contract was secured during negotiations. Within this, salaries and product development will also come under Richmond’s remit. Meanwhile, household iGaming software developer Pragmatic Play will power the bingo product, and many of their games will be housed in ITV’s bingo section, including 75-ball, 80-ball, 90-ball, and Speed Bingo.
ITV’s current platform, ITV Win, has plenty of free-to-play games, and while the bingo aspect is designed to boost engagement, the slot side will be the main source of revenue. A recent report showed that British online casinos and gambling companies spent more than £2 billion on advertising in 2024, highlighting the popularity of the industry.
Slot enthusiasts will be impressed with the range of real money TV-show-inspired slot games that will be stocked by ITV. This is likely to include reality programme I’m A Celebrity as well as quizzes, such as The Chase.
Media brands joining the iGaming landscape isn’t something new. Sky Bet, for example, emerged from the satellite broadcaster BSkyB in 2001, and has become a hit success.
Meanwhile, Sun Bets, an online bookmaker and casino, went live in 2016 following a venture between Australian operator Tabcorp and The Sun’s publishers News UK. Reports have suggested that Sun Bets is poised to undergo a brand change, which will take place next year.
Discussing the ITV deal, Richmond’s CEO, Adam Joseph said:
“This is a milestone moment for Richmond Atlantic, and one that will redefine the iGaming landscape in the UK following the expansion of ITV Win.
“The launch of ITV Win Bingo & Spins is going to be an exciting time, and we are incredibly proud to be the driving force behind bringing it to market and ensuring we have a safe and entertaining place for the customers we will drive.”
Given the pressure heaped on the industry by the budget announcement delivered last month by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the launch of ITV’s bingo and slots offering is far from ideal timing.
With Remote Gaming Duty (RGD) set to rise from 21% to 40% of gross profit from April 2026, it remains to be seen what impact this will have on gambling companies.
Perhaps some mitigation measures will need to be put in place once ITV’s revamped offering is rolled out. Betting.co.uk reached out to ITV for further comment on the deal, but they declined.
