Jordan Levin is to step away from the position of CEO of OpenBet, with current President Nikos Konstakis set to replace him at the end of the year.
Levin has served as CEO of the sports betting supplier since October 2021, having previously been Group CEO of Scientific Games’ SG Digital division. OpenBet became part of SG Digital following Scientific Games’ $631 million (£474.1 million) acquisition of NYX Gaming Group in 2018.
Levin remained with OpenBet following its sale to Endeavor for $800 million in 2022. Levin then oversaw a transition where OpenBet returned to being independently operated through a $450 million management buyout by OB Global Holdings. Last week, OpenBet announced the planned acquisition of sportsbook technology provider OmniLogic for an undisclosed sum.
Levin will now transition to the role of Chairman, continuing his time with the group which goes back to 2006, when he took over as Vice President, Business Development of supplier WMS Gaming. Levin then moved over to subsidiary Williams Interactive as Managing Director and COO in 2012, before WMS Industries Inc. was sold to Scientific Games for approximately $1.5 billion in 2013.
In a post on LinkedIn, Levin wrote:
“I want to thank the entire OpenBet team for all the years of support and inspiration. Best of all, the party keeps on going and I am excited to see what's next from a slightly different vantage point.”
Konstakis’ gaming industry career spans close to a quarter of a century. He initially joined OpenBet as Vice President, Trading in 2017, having previously been in various roles at supplier Intralot from 2001 to 2017, with his final position there being as Group Director of Betting.
Konstakis was moved over to SG Digital in 2018, where he was Vice President, Sportsbook & Operations and later Managing Director, SG Digital Athens.
Konstakis then moved back to OpenBet in 2021 as Vice President, Sportsbook Product & Operations in September of that year. Three months later, Konstakis stepped into the position of Group Chief Product Officer, before becoming Chief Operating Officer in January 2024.
Konstakis has been President since last December, and he is also Managing Director of the supplier’s Greek innovation hub OpenBet Hellas.
Konstakis said:
“I want to thank Jordan for his leadership and the foundation he has built at OpenBet. It’s a privilege to take on this role and lead the business at such an exciting time. We have an exceptional customer base, a great team and significant opportunities ahead of us.
“My focus will be on building on those strengths, bringing even greater pace and focus to the business and making sure we continue to set the standard in the markets we serve. I’m excited about what we can achieve from here and look forward to working with Jordan in his new role, and with our teams around the world.”
Levin added:
“Nikos has already been instrumental in driving the evolution of OpenBet and I have tremendous confidence in his leadership as CEO, having served in multiple and progressing senior executive positions at OpenBet.
“He knows our business, our customers and our technology inside out, and has played a central role in shaping our priorities and how we execute against them. Furthermore, Nikos has been a true confidante and partner in the business since coming on board over eight years ago.”
