West Ham United have announced they have retained BoyleSports as their principal sponsor for the 2026/27 campaign, putting pen to paper on a fresh multi-year deal.
The Hammers were set to lose the reputable betting firm as their main sponsor, with the Premier League confirming it would prohibit clubs from having gambling brands as front-of-shirt sponsors from next season.
However, the East London outfit’s relegation at the end of last term means a deal is permissible as the Championship isn’t subject to the same sponsorship restrictions.
For West Ham, the fresh deal with BoyleSports represents a boon. After a torrid season on the pitch, there were well-documented problems off it. Shareholder David Sullivan stepped down after historic allegations surfaced over his behaviour, while his long-term aide Karren Brady also departed the club earlier this year.
But West Ham, who have reportedly sold 45,000 tickets for the new campaign, are looking to build new memories with BoyleSports. While details of the agreement haven’t been disclosed, BoyleSports will continue to work with West Ham on engaging activations during matchdays and across its digital channels.
In the first year of their partnership, BoyleSports rolled out some fun fan-focused initiatives such as a scarf giveaway. And it seems that BoyleSports has big plans to drive the club forward.
Only a few months ago, West Ham were frantically scurrying around searching for a new sponsor. A potential deal with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) was mooted as the club looked to plug new commercial avenues, but things died down on that front.
More pertinently, a recent look at West Ham’s accounts painted a worrying picture. Commercial revenue dipped from £58 million to £56m last year, and in the previous season, the club made a pre-tax loss of £104m.
However, in securing BoyleSports’ services, it represents a silver lining for the club, who will be looking to regain promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
While BoyleSports had originally expressed concerns about events surrounding the club off the pitch, the partnership gives West Ham some much-needed commercial stability. And West Ham’s interim CEO, Karim Virani, was delighted with the attitude shown by BoyleSports to shelve to one side the club’s internal difficulties and continue their collaboration.
He said:
“We’re delighted to have BoyleSports continue as front-of-shirt sponsor as part of the multi-year Principal Partnership.
“As we enter an exciting new era for the Club and prepare for a pivotal season, it matters that our commercial partners share the same passion and drive that we have for our loyal fans. BoyleSports has approached the partnership in that spirit, and we look forward to continuing to work with them.”
Although it was thought that BoyleSports were open to a full sale of its digital assets and 390-strong retail estate across the UK and Ireland, it seems that the new deal with West Ham suggests the company has long-term ambitions. And BoyleSports’ CEO, Vlad Kaltenieks, struck a defiant tone about the arrangement with West Ham.
He said:
“West Ham is one of the most recognisable clubs in English football, with a proud history and a passionate fanbase.
“We were proud to begin our partnership last season, but this is only the start and we look forward to an exciting season ahead.”
