  • William Hill is offering eight places and a fantastic new customer offer!

Three longshot bets for the Open De Espana

My main betting tips for this week’s DP World Tour event are now live, so now I’m moving on to my three longshot picks for the Open De Espana. The three players I have selected this week all have tons of talent and each of them is fully capable of a big performance. All three are suited to the course on paper and I think they are worth a chance at such huge prices. I am hoping they’ll give us a good run for our money.

Things didn’t go quite according to plan for last week’s Wentworth longshots, but it’s not always going to. The idea of these selections is to find some talented players at big prices that can outplay their odds on a going day. We have had some success with them in the past and we will do so again, it’s just a matter of time.

William Hill your best bet for my longshot players

William Hill not only offers eight places for this week’s Open De Espana, you also have the chance to pick up some free bets if you don’t already have an account there. Bet £10, and you’ll get £30 in free bets. It’s a great deal, and one that I recommend highly.

Ugo Coussaud @ 150/1

My first longshot for the Open De Espana is Ugo Coussaud, who is a very impressive ball striker. He is currently world number 223 and comes into this event off the back of a really good week at Wentworth, where he finished tied for seventh place with a score of 16 under par. This week’s course is another where you need to score really low, and Ugo definitely has that capability.

He is reliable off the tee, good with his irons, and his short game has improved a lot this season. All of these are essential for this week’s event, and with the confidence gained from his good finish last week, I expect him to play well here. I think that 150/1 is far too big for the credentials Ugo Coussaud has on offer.

Nacho Elvira @ 175/1

Next up is two-time DP World Tour winner Nacho Elvira, who is remarkably overpriced for this event. He is the current world number 156 and rightly so, as he is a player with bags of talent. He has finished his last three tournaments at level par, and I think that is why he is such a big price here, but coming back to his homeland in Spain he is sure to be fired up for this event.

It’s also worth noting that Nacho’s best performances often come off the back of a few mediocre ones, but his credentials for this golf course are absolutely perfect. He controls the ball well off the tee, he has a nice soft shot shape, and he is very reliable with his short irons and putter. I‘m not in the least bit bothered by his most recent form, I think the 200/1 is far too big considering the talent Nacho Elvira has.

Casey Jarvis @ 200/1

My final longshot pick for this week is Casey Jarvis. He is a very flashy player, and one that can do it all. He is certainly capable of shooting scores in the low 60s, and although he occasionally has a blip, I think he’ll do just fine on this course. When looking at this event there are quite a few similar tournaments where he has played very well, and now could be the time for him to strike.

He has had multiple top 20 finishes during his career and he clearly has tons of ability, it’s just a case of him putting it together for all four rounds. His short game is very underrated and if he gets off to a good start this week, then we could well see Casey Jarvis with his name on the leaderboard on Sunday.

My longshot betting tips for the Open De Espana

  • Ugo Coussaud @ 150/1
  • Nacho Elvira @ 175/1
  • Casey Jarvis @ 200/1
