Title decider? Potentially. Thriller? Probably. Story of the weekend? Almost definitely!
The biggest game of the season so far is taking place at Etihad this Sunday at 16:30 GMT as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City host Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in a game that could have a massive influence on where the Premier League title ends up in May.
Here at Betting.co.uk, our experts have brought you all of their top betting predictions and odds for this fixture. All of the odds contained within this article are 100% correct at the time of writing and have been brought to you by 888sport.
Much of the discussion in the build-up to this game has been surrounding which side is under more pressure. Essentially, it’s a must-not-lose game for both sides, but a loss for Liverpool would perhaps be more detrimental than it would for City.
If Manchester City come out on top, they would be four points clear with seven Premier League games left to play. Meanwhile, a Liverpool win would see them go top by two points with a superior goal difference of 5.
Both sides are still fighting on all three remaining fronts this season and will meet again at Wembly just six days after this game in the FA Cup semi-final. Manchester City have a tougher midweek test than Liverpool in the Champions League, as they travel to the Spanish capital to face Athletico Madrid with just a slender 1-0 home win to protect.
Liverpool, meanwhile, host a Benfica side at Anfield, having swept them aside with relative ease in Lisbon on Tuesday. While Liverpool’s Champions League quarter-final definitely isn’t over yet, Jurgen Klopp will almost certainly be able to afford to rest some key players and perhaps be able to throw the full weight of his squad at this game. Given the defensive prowess and stubbornness of Deigo Simione’s Athletico Madrid, especially at home, Pep Guardiola will likely have one eye on the Champions League quarter-final midweek.
However, Liverpool arguably have the harder-looking run-in in their final seven Premier League games, with Manchester United, Everton and Spurs all still to visit Anfield.

This game is a tough one to call, and we reckon it’s even more closely contested than the bookies’ odds suggest. While Ruben Dias is the only player of note missing from Pep Guardiola’s extensive squad, Jurgen Klopp pretty much has his entire squad at his disposal.
Liverpool haven’t won at the Etihad since the 2-1 Champions League game back in 2018, but recent Premier League form does favour them. The Reds haven’t dropped points in the Premier League since they drew 2-2 against Chelsea in a thrilling January 2nd encounter. Manchester City, meanwhile, have allowed Liverpool to close a gap that was as big as 13 points (with Liverpool having two games in hand) just a couple of months ago.
We like the look of a draw plus both teams to score at odds of 17/5 with 888sport.
As we said, it’s a tough pick this game, and it could go either way. The only thing we are definitely feeling confident about is both teams finding the back of the other’s net at some stage. So whatever bet you like the look of, use the 88sport bet builder and add BTTS to boost your odds.
