Manchester City finished their Premier League campaign strongly. Plenty of noise was made
from arch-rivals and pundits about how they failed to win a trophy last season, but they
quietly went about their business in the final months. The FA Cup finalists went 10 matches
unbeaten from March (W8 D2) to finish 3rd and qualify for the Champions League.
Within those 10 matches, Pep Guardiola’s side managed to keep six clean sheets -
drastically improving on their earlier form and perhaps a corner has been turned. With a trio
of additions brought in prior to the Club World Cup, there’s no surprise to see Man City as
one of the favourites to win the tournament.

Man City moved quickly in the market to bring in Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Tijjani
Reijnders. Cherki scored eight league goals for Lyon last campaign, as well as providing 11
assists.
The Frenchman was one of their best players in the Europa League, too, returning 12
contributions from 12 matches. The attacker will add another dimension to Man City’s attack,
who will be on hand to support their top goalscorer Erling Haaland.
Guardiola knew he needed to strengthen his full-backs, and the addition of Rayan Ait-Nouri
is an exciting one. Able to operate on either the left or right, the versatile Algerian adds
quality to Man City’s defence.
Tijjani Reijnders contributed 10 Serie A goals for AC Milan last campaign, and it’s clear that
Guardiola has identified another player that can weigh in with goal contributions next
season. With three new exciting signings added and on the plane to the US, let’s take a look
at our Club World Cup predictions.
Guardiola’s squad is worth x74 more than Wydad’s - and so there’s no surprise that our Man
City betting tips focus on the Premier League side. And in theory, they should be ready to
send a statement to not only their group, but also the other top teams within the competition.
Priced at 9/10 to win the match by three goals or more, this looks inviting against a side that
failed to score against Porto and Sevilla’s rotated sides in friendlies back in May. The
English side will have a spring in their step with several fresh faces and their quality should
be rather telling.
Looking at the
Fifa Club World Cup betting odds, Erling Haaland is 15/8 to get on the
scoresheet first - and sometimes it is best not to overcomplicate these matches. The
Norwegian hit 31 goals last season and is responsible from 12 yards. He’ll be keen to
challenge for the golden boot this summer, too.
New signing Cherki is priced as short as 4/11 to score or assist with bet365. He’s one of 12
players that are odds-on in that market, indicating Man City are set to produce a rather big
scoreline.
If ever there was a time to jump back on the Man City train, it could well be for this
tournament. Pep Guardiola has strengthened his squad with a trio of talent but also
welcomes back Rodri - his main man in the heart of the pitch.
Our
Club World Cup prediction
is that Man City can go deep into this tournament. They have
a much easier run than the likes of PSG and Bayern Munich, potentially avoiding anyone of
their level until the quarter finals.
Priced at 5/1, Man City’s odds have drifted slightly after PSG’s 4-0 hammering against
Atletico - but that’s created a rather generous price for Guardiola’s side to go all the way and
clinch their first trophy in 2025.
There are several

perhaps the standout one is
