I had a really unlucky start to the week with my Monday NAP selection finishing second at 10/1, by a short distance, but I’m looking to put that right on Tuesday, where I have one runner on the Flat at Leicester, and another over Hurdles at Southwell.
Both of my selections run within an hour of each other and I think the pair of them both have massive chances of making it a profitable Tuesday for us.
I’ve also been looking ahead a bit. Towards the end of the month, we have Royal Ascot and I’ll shortly be dropping some ante post selections for the meeting, as those went very well last year. Make sure that you keep tuning in here at Betting.co.uk over the next few weeks as we build up to the main event!
It’s a very good day of racing this Tuesday and to help you back all of the selections you fancy, I have an offer for you which can help. Ladbrokes are currently offering a Bet £5 and Get four £5 Free Bets deal. You could even use your initial bet on one of my selections here to unlock the free bets and then use those for Ascot.
Mid-way through the afternoon at Leicester and there’s a decent line up of good horses, but none are more interesting than Makeen. He seems to come into form around this time of year and had two really good wins and a creditable third place already this season and a repeat performance of any of those runs would put him right in the mix here.
Last time out at Newmarket, Makeen was seriously unlucky in defeat, having found trouble during the latter stages. It’s probably a fair assessment that he would have won that day if that hadn’t happened and his evident return to form makes him a huge danger here. He is clearly up to winning a race like this and has very good credentials on the fast ground where some of his rivals actually have a few question marks to answer on this surface.
Tomorrow, Claiming jockey Ryan Sexton is booked for the ride and he will take a valuable 3lb off Makeen’s back. Ryan is a jockey that I have a lot of time for and he has been riding superbly this season. I think Makeen is in with a big chance here. Despite this being quite a deep Handicap, with some smart horses running, he is a straightforward horse, who always travels well and does his best.
This is a very nice Handicap Hurdle and there are actually a couple of horses running here that I like to follow. However, I think there is one in particular that will take some stopping and that is Presenting Pete, running for John Mackie. He has been a little bit tricky to win with, but here at Southwell, where he has excellent form over course and distance, he could have a slight class edge over his rivals.
Presenting Pete is similar to my selection at Leicester, in the sense that he seems to come good around this time of year. He certainly won in decisive fashion here last July, he acts very well on the good ground and comes here on his second start since a break, which could mean he proves a little bit fitter this time out.
It may well have been the plan to start him off here this year, but with a run already under his belt, I think he’ll now be well ahead of schedule and ready to put his best foot forward. There are undeniably some nice-looking profiles in this race, but I believe Presenting Pete will be back in the winners enclosure this time, making him my NAP for today.
If you already have a Ladbrokes account, be sure to check out all of the great options right here at Betting.co.uk. There are tons of bookie offers to take advantage of and after all, why spend your own money when you can use theirs?
That’s the two for Tuesday folks but don’t forget I am always talking about racing and putting up extra bets and information in my group chat which is completely free for you to join. Come on over and let me know who you fancy for Tuesday’s racing!
