After nearly three months of exciting competition, Strictly Come Dancing 2025 is set to crown its winner this Saturday night. Just three acts remain in the show following the departure of EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal in last week’s semi-final. Can former Lioness Karen Carney dance her way to the Glitterball trophy? Will YouTuber George Clarke beat her at the final hurdle? Or can Amber Davies cause an upset on the night? We take a closer look and offer our predictions in this Strictly Come Dancing final betting preview.
This is how Betfred is pricing up Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing final.
Despite there being three contestants left in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, the final is shaping up to be a straight shoot-out between two celebrities. Former Lioness turned pundit Karen Carney has been the most consistent contestant throughout the tournament, overcoming early odds as long as 20/1 to now be the favourite to win the show at 4/9 with Betfred.
YouTuber George Clarke is hot on her heels, at least from the bookies' perspective. Clarke was the lowest performing of the three finalists in last week’s semi-finals, but he has proven incredibly popular with the voting public, and is currently priced at 15/8 to take the Glitterball Trophy.
Carney is the clear favourite, but the time to back her was weeks ago when she was available at much better odds. At 15/8, there is some value in backing George Clarke, especially as he held the top spot with the bookies for much of the competition, and has only really drifted into second spot over the last fortnight. There is also a strong chance that his online followers turn up big-time on the night and help swing the vote in his favour.
Despite scoring a perfect 40 in two of her last three performances, theatre star and former Love Island contestant Amber Davies is the least fancied by the bookies to win on Saturday. While she has been fantastic on the dance floor, she has not connected with the audience in the same way as the other two, with some believing that her background in musical theatre has given her an advantage over the competition. She is priced at 40/1, and while this might seem generous for a final, we believe it is reflective of her chances and that she is best avoided.
The Strictly Come Dancing final will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday, December 20th. The show will start at 7 pm and will be hosted by Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly.
It will be the last standard edition of Strictly Come Dancing to be hosted by the pair, with new Strictly hosts taking over next year. However, Strictly fans will get to see the pair host the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special on Christmas Day.
The public vote entirely decides the Strictly Come Dancing finale. Each contestant will perform three dances, and the judges will score each. Once all of the dances have been finished, public voting is open, with the highest-scoring couple going on to win the Glitterball Trophy.
