December is here, so it’s time to get the tree out, wrap your pressies, and settle down in front of the TV for some festive viewing.
The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special has firmly established itself as a Christmas viewing tradition across UK households over the last 20 years, and the lineup for this year’s edition is now out. Six celebrities will take to the floor to see who can get their hands on the highly coveted Glitterball Trophy. In this Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special betting guide, we are going to take a look at who the top UK bookies fancy to take the Festive Glitterball, and where we think the market presents value.
This is how Betfred is currently pricing up the Strictly Come Dancing 2025 Christmas Special contestants.
Former Gogglebox star and I’m a Celeb winner Scarlett Moffatt is the current bookies' favourite to win the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special on Christmas Day. Moffatt is no stranger to reality TV and public votes. The 35-year-old has won over the British public on more than one occasion, and nine years after her I’m a Celeb win, she will look to secure another huge British reality TV prize.
Jodie Ounsley is the bookies' second favourite, with Betfred pricing her at 3/1. The former Rugby Union player and current Gladiators star has proven incredibly popular with viewers, and her athletic background will benefit her on the dancefloor. Fury, as she is known in Gladiators, has said she is dancing in her dad’s honour, after he passed away unexpectedly at the start of December. The 24-year-old is definitely one to watch, and we believe she is excellent value at that price.
Former EastEnders star Nicholas Bailey, best known for playing Anthony Trueman, is also available at 3/1. Bailey could be a dark horse in the race; the 54-year-old has a strong theatrical background, having appeared on the West End multiple times.
Singer Melanie Blatt was initially installed as a favourite by the bookies but has quickly drifted out and is now at 4/1. She is partnered with last year’s winning dancer, Kai Widdrington. Widdrington has won two of the last three specials, but it is worth noting that no dancer has won the show in back-to-back years.
Rounded out the odds are comedian Banatunde and Westlife star Brian McFadden at 9/2 and 5/1, respectively. Babatunde has proven popular with the public in recent years, but there is little in his background to suggest he will be a strong contender.
The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special will be live on BBC One and iPlayer from 3:55 pm on Christmas Day.
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will be presenting the Christmas special for the final time before passing the baton on to a new Strictly Come Dancing host next year.
