Yes, it is that time of the year again. Wives getting excited and husbands banished from the living room and told to watch his sport somewhere else - or is that just my house?

Strictly Come Dancing is back with a bang. The popular entertainment show is back for a 24th season, but there are few new faces to get used to. Presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman stepped down as hosts last year and have been replaced by Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and dancer Johannes Radebe.

One thing that has not changed is the judges. Craig Revel Horwood will still get booed every week, Motsi Mabuse will shine with her beauty, we will all fear that Shirley Ballas will need oxygen at one stage, and we will watch as Anton Du Beke slowly goes mad.

What about the celebrities and their partners? There will be 15 pairings, and I am quite pleased with myself because out of those 15 celebrities I know eight of them. That is a good score for me, I am happy with that.

Who is the favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing 2026?

We got a glimpse of what each celebrity could do when they where paired with their partners, but not enough to gage who would be amazing and who would be downright awful - although we all have our thoughts.

Dani Dyer is the current favourite and she has become the first celebrity to be paired with the same partner twice. Dyer was paired with Nikita Kuzmin in the 1025 edition, but had to withdraw before the first live show. She is back again and will be with Kuzmin, so hopefully she finally gets to take her first dance.

Other favourites include Lawrence Robb and Deltra Goodrem - who is my pick. However, we all want to see who is the worst as well, I do not have high hopes for Shaun Wright-Phillips or Melanie Walters - but time will tell.

The public vote entirely decides the Strictly Come Dancing finale. Each contestant will perform three dances, and the judges will score each. Once all of the dances have been finished, public voting is open, with the highest-scoring couple going on to win the Glitterball Trophy.
