Abbey Hey Entertain with Eight

Ben Halfacre scored four as Abbey Hey beat Brocton 8-0, with further goals from Dylan Fitzgerald, Jordan Lazenbury, Jake Dunford and Paul Sunderland capping off a resounding win.

Halfacre now moves to five for the season, with the Abbey Hey forward netting in consecutive matches for the Greater Manchester club.

Moving to seventh with the win, Abbey Hey now sit just two places below the playoffs, whilst Brocton are hovering dangerously above the relegation zone.

Ravens Romp to Record Win

After two consecutive 1-1 draws in their opening fixtures as a club playing in the English football pyramid, FC Isle of Man finally picked up their first win of the season with a comfortable 3-0 victory against Alsager Town.

Jack Camarda, Luke Murray and Lee Gale were on target for the Ravens, who remain unbeaten so far this campaign.

For Alsager, their indifferent start to the season continues, with the Bullets hoping Tuesday’s visit of Sandbach United will bring about three points.

Cheadle Town Cruise to Victory

Cheadle Town came from behind to move into a playoff spot with a convincing 5-1 victory over St Martins.

The home side had opened the scoring midway through the first period thanks to Samuel Roberts’ 32nd minute strike, but the visitors were quickly on level terms, courtesy of Andrew Lunt’s equaliser.

Patrick Davin, Ryan Usher and Christian Soda added to Town’s tally in the second half, before Roberts helped himself to his second of the match in added time.

New Mills Maintain Unbeaten Start

Joe Bevan made it five goals in four games for his new side, as New Mills maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-2 victory away to Abbey Hulton United.

Lee Cropper had given United the lead, before Benito Lowe levelled on 25 minutes, with the prolific Bevan striking twice before the break to give the Millers a comfortable lead.

If the first period had been a breeze for New Mills, the second was a disaster waiting to happen, as United found themselves within one, courtesy of Fitzroy Butler’s strike 30 minutes from time. Ultimately it wasn’t to be for the side from Stoke-on-Trent, who were unable to prevent their first defeat of the season.

Nomads Pick Up First Points of Season

Will Shawcross was on target twice for Cheadle Heath Nomads, as the Greater Manchester club picked up their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw against West Didsbury & Chorlton.

Shawcross, who also scored a brace in Nomads’ 3-2 defeat to Abbey Hey last week, gave the home side the lead 13 minutes into the fixture, before two second-half goals from Sam Heathcote and Liam Delaney put West in front.

Striking his fourth of the season ten minutes from time, Shawcross’ equaliser was enough to drag Nomads from the bottom of the table.

Elsewhere on Matchday Three

Sandbach United scored either side of halftime to go top of the league with a 2-1 victory over Eccleshall, whilst Stafford Town overcame Cammell Laird 1907 2-0.

Maine Road put three past Rocester in a 3-1 victory for the Greater Manchester club, climbing out of the bottom three with the result.

With Ellesmere Rangers and Wythenshawe Amateurs also picking up wins against Barnton and Stockport Town respectively.
