The 13th of November is the final day of Premier League action, before all eyes turn to Qatar and the 2022 FIFA World Cup. With several intriguing fixtures taking place, fans have a lot to look forward to before the mid-season hiatus.
The fixture schedule has been relatively kind to the sides at the top of the Premier League table. Leaders Arsenal face a Saturday night trip to Molineux, as they take on struggling Wolves. The home side have scored just six goals in their first 13 games of the campaign, and the Gunners will be confident of going into the mid-season break with another three points in the bag.
Manchester City kick off the weekend action with a home clash against Brentford. Whilst the Bees have an excellent home record, they have failed to win any of their away games thus far. In contrast, City have a 100% home record that has seen them score at least three goals in every game at the Etihad this term, so it is no surprise that most football betting sites in the UK have City as very short priced favourites for the game.
Third placed Tottenham Hotspur face a potential banana skin when they host Leeds United. The visitors shocked Liverpool at Anfield in their previous away fixture, whilst Spurs suffered a disappointing defeat to Newcastle in their previous game at White Hart Lane Stadium.
Talking of Newcastle, the Magpies have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season and their fans are dreaming of a long-awaited return to European competition. Their Champions League credentials will be severely tested when they host Chelsea at St James Park, in the early evening kick off on Saturday. The Blues have started life well under new boss Graham Potter, but the recent defeat at Brighton highlighted a few defensive frailties that Newcastle will hope to exploit.
A day later, surprise package Fulham take on Manchester United at Craven Cottage. After an indifferent start to the season, United are beginning to click under Erik Ten Hag and have gone unbeaten since the humiliating 6-3 loss against Manchester City. They will not find it easy against a Fulham side who have defied preseason predictions to sit comfortably in mid-table.
Bottom side Notts Forest will be hoping for a boost ahead of the mid season break when they entertain mid table Crystal Palace at the City Ground. The Eagles are another side without an away win, and their recent limp displays at Everton and Leicester suggest that Forest have a good chance of adding three points to their tally.
After a wretched start to the season, Leicester City are finally coming into some form. Their improved performances will be put to the test at the London Stadium, when they face a West Ham side who are on a three game winning run at home.
Misfiring Liverpool will hope to get back on track when they host struggling Southampton. Hopes of a title challenge from the Reds have virtually extinguished after an inconsistent start to the season.
Elsewhere, Unai Emery takes charge of his first Aston Villa home game, as they host Brighton at Villa Park, plus Bournemouth and Everton lock horns at the Vitality Stadium.
