It’s that time of the year. The Rocket League 2022 World Championship is on, and Rocket League fans and bettors are on the edge of their seats. We saw a lot of excitement during the Spring Split Major: upsets that rewarded believers, crazy comebacks, and insane plays that put new teams in the spotlight. Today, we’re going to take a peek at the teams most worth looking at.
Favourite Teams
Moist Esports
After winning the RLCS 2021-2022 Spring Split Major, Moist Esports is no doubt one of the clear favourites in this tournament. It’s crazy to think that they only joined the Rocket League pro scene as a new organisation back in May when they already finished 2nd in the Dacia Spring Cup. Now, just a couple of months later, they’ve gone the distance and bested prestigious teams including Spacestation Gaming, Version1, and Team Falcons.
While the organisation is relatively young, Moist Esports players Joe “Joyo” Young, Axel “Vatira” Touret, and Finlay “rise.” Ferguson have been playing together under the same team since 2021. This experience allows them to understand each other’s playstyle and manoeuvre, which is the most crucial thing in such a tightly cooperative game as Rocket League.
The
best online bookies
don’t have the odds for the World Championship yet, but once those are out in the open, we reckon it would be ideal to watch how Moist Esports will measure up against teams they’ve had the most difficulty facing in the past, such as Version1, Spacesation Gaming, and Team Falcons.
Now, it’s worth mentioning that Moist Esports haven’t had the opportunity to face other elites that will also be competing in the World Championship. This means they’ll encounter new challenges when facing teams like G2 Esports, Pioneers, and FURIA Esports. They also faced some teams, such as SMPR Esports, OpTic Gaming, and Karmine Corp, only once since the division launched.

Outside Bet
The Club
If we’re talking about the tournament’s underdog, we have to turn our attention to The Club, a South American team previously known as SAC. They bought their roster from another team called eRa Eternity, which has been around since 2017. The players include Luiz Fellipe “AztromicK” Lopes Gomes, Danilo “kv1” Michelini, and Gabriel “Lostt” Buzon, who have all been playing together since the end of 2021.
Why are they the underdog? It’s because they’re a new division that hasn’t been to a lot of huge tournaments yet. They’ve only been competing in smaller events that don’t have the high stakes that the World Champion has. The players themselves haven’t had their breakthrough yet even though they’ve been in the pro scene since 2019.
Overall, they’re just the ultimate wild card in this tournament, which is still good news for underdog bettors. Them winning the event or even making it to the Playoffs is dim, for sure, but they’ve been playing with the pros long enough that pulling an upset isn’t such a long shot. With the right series, right

Conclusion
Like we’ve said, the odds for the RLCS 2021-2022 World Championship aren’t out yet at the time of writing, so it’s a little bit difficult to arrange the teams in order of strength as predicted by the bookies. Still, using the Spring Split Major as the basis, an international event that only concluded a mere month ago, we can be sure that the favourites we’ve mentioned will be given steep consideration.
If you want to play on the upside, keeping an eye on hot teams such as Moist Esports FURIA Esports, and Team Falcons won’t be such a bad thing to do. Moist Esports especially has shown a lot of consistency in the shortest amount of time.
On the other hand, if you want to play on the downside, it’s always a good option to back wild cards that pack the right combination of mystery and potency, as these two have a knack for throwing off betting sites’ evaluation metres. In this tournament, we’re only seeing The Club as the team that possesses these qualities, although other teams such as Orlando Pirates Exdee, Karmine Corp, and Bravado Gaming could be great alternatives as well.
