fell short again last weekend with just one incorrect result. He backed Castleford to beat a York team that conceded 72 points the week before. He was wrong as York hit back with a 20-14 win on the road.
This weekend is special as it is the Magic Weekend. This is where all the teams play on one weekend at the same venue with all the fans mingling with each other. With seven matches this year, the format is a little different. Six games will be played at the Hill Dickinson Stadium - home of Everton FC - while there will be one in France as Catalans battle Toulouse at the Stade Pierre-Fabre in Castres.
There should be outstanding matches taking place, but David feels one or two of them are difficult to call. Check out his acca and predictions below and see if you agree with him.
Super League Round 17 Magic Weekend Acca
Right, let's get started. I believe that the opening game of the Magic Weekend is the hardest one to call. It features the two bottom teams with Huddersfield Giants in 14th place taking on the York Knights in 13th. These two are not very good, but they both put in positive performances last weekend.
York managed to get some dignity back after their hammering at the hands of Wigan with a win over Castleford Tigers, while Huddersfield pushed Wakefield Trinity all the way and only lost to an interception score with 17 seconds remaining. Confidence at Huddersfield is low, so I have to back York to win. I know my acca could end after game one, but I am sticking with my gut.
The second game is the Hull Derby - the second biggest Derby in English rugby league. Hull KR are the defending champions and they have the wood over their neighbours and will be looking to continue their winning streak over them. The Robins fell to defeat against Leeds last weekend, while Hull Fc suffered a late home loss against Wigan. I have to back the champions in this one.
The final game of Magic Weekend Day One in the UK should be an absolute cracker. Warrington Wolves are second on the league ladder, while Leigh are just outside the play-off places in seventh. Warrington need to up their game if they are to be take seriously as title contenders. I think they will prove a point by beating the Leopards and keeping the pressure on leaders Leeds Rhinos.
The fun does not stop there as the French teams lock horns in their country with Catalans taking on Toulouse in Castres. The Dragons should be too strong for Toulouse.
Day two starts with Wakefield Trinity versus Castleford Tigers. This is another local derby and anything can happen in those. Trinity will be looking to improve after escaping with two points against Huddersfield. I cannot see the Tigers living with them, so I backing a Wakefield win.
Another big derby takes place on Sunday in game two. The Airport Derby as opposing fans like to call it sees Leeds take on Bradford Bulls. The Rhinos hammered Hull KR last weekend and should have no problem beating Bradford, who unfortunately look out of their depth at times. I am backing Leeds.
The final game is the biggest game in UK rugby league - Wigan versus Saints. It doesn't matter what kind of form any of these two teams are in, it goes out of the window when these two lock horns. There has been bad blood for years, but it has intensified in recent weeks after Wigan coach Matt Peet claimed Saints had lost their identity. It should be a bruising affair, but I cannot see past a win for the Warriors.

Hull KR vs Hull FC - Saturday, July 4th - 15:00 BST
There is a constant debate amongst rugby league fans about which 'Derby' is the biggest. If you are from Hull you say it's the Hull Derby and if you are from Wigan or St Helens you say it's the Wigan v Saints Derby. I know my answer, but I am not getting into it here. The Hull Derby is a great spectacle, it has been a little one sided in recent years with KR winning seven matches in a row against their hated rivals. Hull KR are the defending champions, but they have already lost five games this season. They will forget about every single defeat this season for a win over the Black and Whites. The Robins are currently in sixth place and are six points behind leaders Leeds Rhinos. Hull FC are outside the play-offs and are down in eighth position - 10 points behind their rivals. Hull KR are down on troops with Dean Hadley out having failed his concussion test, Tom Amone is missing with a facial injury and Tevita Pangai Jr starts the first of a six-game suspension. Joe Burgess and Arthur Mourgue remain on the injured list. Hull FC will be without Harvey Barron after he failed an HIA test in the loss against Wigan, with Cade Cust returning. Hull FC pushed Wigan hard last weekend, while the Robins were well beaten by Leeds Rhinos. Hull KR have the edge over Hull FC at the moment, and despite their injuries, I cannot see anything other than a win for the defending champions. I am hoping for a close affair, so I am going with the Robins to in by 11-15 points with a couple of late scores. I am also backing Mikey Lewis to score a try at anytime, as he loves playing against the Black & Whites. Further tries will be scored by Tom Davies for the Robins and Lewis Martin for FC.

Wigan Warriors vs St Helens - Sunday, July 5th - 17:30 BST
Wigan and Saints renew their famous rivalry at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday in the final game of the Magic Weekend. These two have net twice already this season, Saints won the Good Friday clash in Super League thanks to late tries to seal an amazing comeback. The second game was in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup with the Warriors hammering the Saints 32-0. That win set up a little bit of tension with Wigan coach Matt Peet claiming St Helens had lost their identity after signing players on loan rather than promoting youth. Saints said nothing until this week when a few comments were made about their youth, but the club denied it was aimed at Peet or Wigan. However, there still should be some fireworks on Sunday. Wigan have been dealt some bad injury news this week. Luke Thompson is out with an ankle problem, Liam Farrell has a shoulder injury, Noah Hodkinson has a fractured skull and Bevan French is out with another hamstring problem - although it is not the same hamstring that saw him miss 11 weeks of action. St Helens have Daryl Clark back after the hooker missed the win over Bradford Bulls last weekend due to a number of minor niggles. They are still without Deon Cross, Jonny Lomax, Matty Lees, Mark Percival and Noah Stephens. Both teams are missing key players, but I have to back Wigan in this game. They look sharp, and even with French out they have Jack Farrimond to partner Harry Smith - and I don't think it is the loss that it was earlier in the season. I am backing Wigan to win by 16-20 points. When it comes to try scorers, I am going with Adam Keighran and Jai Field to score tries for the Warriors, while I am backing Tristan Sailor to score for Saints. Sailor is key for Saints if they are to push Wigan. If he gets his hands on the ball, he could cause Wigan problems, but I feel Peet and his team will have a plan to stop him.
