Bradford Bulls vs Wakefield Trinity - Thursday, July 16th - 20:00 BST

Wakefield Trinity have been described as the surprise package of Super League in 2026, but I think that is a little harsh. Since being promoted back to Super League, Trinity have improved dramatically and under Daryl Powell they are getting better and better. They are currently joint second on the league ladder with 26 points alongside Wigan Warriors and are four points behind leaders Leeds Rhinos. The Yorkshire side have won their last four matches in Super League with their last defeat being against Wigan last month. They take on a Bradford Bulls side who have struggled a little bit on their return to Super League. The Bulls have managed to win six games this season and are currently in 11th position. They come into this game on the back of their first away win of the season after getting past bottom club Huddersfield Giants 30-14. They will be full of confidence, but their backs will be against the wall on Thursday. Bulls coach Kurt Haggerty has named the same squad that beat the Giants, meaning he has the likes of Andy Ackers, Caleb Aekins, Ryan Sutton, Waqa Blake, Ethan Ryan and Mitch Souter at his disposal. Powell has named two changes to his 21-man squad with Corey Hall returning from injury, while Jordan Williams has been recalled from his loan spell at Batley Bulldogs. Max Jowitt and Seth Nikotemo have dropped out of the squad. I cannot see anything past a win for Wakefield Trinity, and a very convincing one as well. I am backing the visitors to win by 16-20 points. Trinity winger Tom Johnstone has scored 12 tries already this season, so I am backing him to score at anytime. Ryan has been one of Bradford's best players this season, so I am backing him to cross over for his 11th try of the campaign.

Huddersfield Giants vs Wigan Warriors - Friday, July 17th - 20:00 BST

This should not be anything other than a very comfortable win for the Wigan Warriors, but stranger things have happened this season. The Warriors are currently six league games undefeated and are second on the league ladder with 26 points, while Huddersfield Giants are rock bottom with just two wins all season. These two last met in March when the Giants recorded their first win of the season with a 34-16 triumph at the Brick Community Stadium. Since that game they have only won once and on current form it will be a long time until they pick up win number three. Giants coach Jim Lenihan has only named 20 players in his squad this week with Adam Swift and Oliver Russell out with injuries. Lewis Jagger has been drafted in. Wigan welcome back Jai Field after he missed the win over Warrington. He is expected to slot back in with Josh Cartwright moving to the wing, George Marsden in the halves and Adam Keighran back at centre. I am expecting the Warriors to be switched on for this game as we enter the business end of the regular season. I am backing them to win by 26-30 points. That seems a lot, but if Wigan are focused they can run tries in for fun. I am backing Field, Keighran, Jake Wardle and Zach Eckersley all to score tries. Being honest, I'd be surprised if Huddersfield scored any.

Warrington Wolves vs Hull Kingston Rovers - Saturday, July 18th - 15:00 BST

Warrington Wolves and defending champions Hull KR were backed heavily to do well this season, and they started off OK. However, recent form from both teams has taken a bit of a dive. The Wolves have lost their last two matches against Wigan and Leigh. The Robins have lost two of their last three matches with defeats against Wakefield and Leeds - their only win was a Derby success against Hull FC at the Magic Weekend in Everton. Warrington are without Josh Thewlis still through injury, but Cai Taylor-Wray and Joe Philbin are again named in the squad and could feature. Rovers coach Willie Peters welcomes back Tom Amone and Dean Hadley back into the squad after recent injuries. Peta Hiku misses this game through suspension. It has to be said that both teams are not playing well. With Warrington being at home, I am backing them to get the win. I am going with them for a 6-10 point win, and I do not think it will be an entertaining game. Both sets of players are feeling the pressure and every mistake is amplified, I feel this will lead to more errors and the game will not be fluid. I am backing Matty Ashton to score a try anytime because he always seems to find a way, I am also backing Mike Lewis to score early on for Rovers.

Castleford Tigers vs Leeds Rhinos - Sunday, July 19 - 15:00 BST

Super League Round 19 comes to a close on Sunday with league leaders Leeds Rhinos making the short trip to rivals Castleford Tigers. I say rivals, this rivalry is mainly one sided. Castleford fans despise Leeds, while Rhinos fans do not really care about Castleford. These two last met in March at Headingley with the Rhinos running out 22-4 with Maika Sivo scoring a hat-trick. Sivo has been in fine form for Leeds this season. He has scored 28 tries already this season. His run of tries in consecutive matches came to an end in France last week as he failed to score after scoring at least one try in all of his last 10 matches. He will be eager to start that run off again. Leeds have been rocked with the news that Ash Handley will be out for three weeks after undergoing a laparoscopic appendectomy after suffering acute appendicitis this week. Jared O'Connor is also out after suffering delayed concussion, while Keenan Palasia and Ryan Hall are also out injured. Jack Bird, Zak Lloyd, Alfie Edgell and Ben Littlewood have been added to the squad. Tigers coack Ryan Carr has named gun centre Krystian Mapapalangi in his 2-1man squad to face Leeds despite missing the loss against Leigh Leopards last weekend with a leg problem. Castleford will need a fully fit Mapapalangi if they are to trouble the league leaders. I cannot see that happening, so I am backing Leeds to win this by 16-20 points. I am going with Sivo and Brodie Croft to score at any time with Jason Qareqare getting a consolation try for the Tigers.
