There will be seven Super League matches taking place this weekend as the Betfred Super League reaches Round 21. There is no Thursday game this week with two matches on Friday, three on Saturday and two more on Sunday.
Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors are joint top with 36 points, while the Rhinos have a better points difference. Wakefield have dropped from second to fourth with back-to-back defeats and they will be looking to avoid the unwanted hat-trick when they travel to Wigan on Friday evening.

Wigan Warriors vs Wakefield Trinity - Friday, August 21st - 20:00 BST
Wigan Warriors are currently unbeaten in 11 consecutive Super League matches, their only defeat since April was the hammering at Hull KR when they named a very youthful side ahead of the Challenge Cup Final. Wakefield were recently in second place, but defeats to Leigh Leopards and St Helens has seen them drop to fourth place. Many people were looking forward to this game as a battle for second and even top spot, but Trinity are now four points behind the Warriors. Wigan welcome back Brad O'Neill from suspension and he is expected to start at hooker. Coach Matt Peet has the option of moving Taylor Kerr to loose forward or back to the bench. Trinity coach Daryl Powell has made five changes to the squad that lost at home to the Saints. Loan signing Zac Lipowicz has been named in the squad, as has Emre Guler who has signed from NRL side St George Illawarra. Lipowicz has more chance of featuring than Guler, but he is there as an option. Oliver Pratt, Kian McGann and Myles Lawford have all been included, while Tom Johnstone, Josh Rourke and Isaiah Vagana all picked up injuries last week. Jazz Tevaga misses the game through suspension. Wakefield are missing some key players, while Wigan are still without Junior Nsemba, Jack Farrimond and Liam Farrell, but I can only see a comfortable win for the Warriors. I am backing the Warriors to win by 16-20 points with tries coming from Zach Eckersley, Jai Field, Jake Wardle and Bevan French.

St Helens vs Castleford Tigers - Saturday, August 22nd - 17:30 BST
Castleford Tigers officially start life without Ryan Carr after the head coach left the club for personal reasons. The Australian has been away from the club for the past two weeks, but it was made official on Friday that the 38-year-old would no longer be employed by the Tigers. Director of rugby Chris Chester will be assisted by Jason Netherton and Luke Robinson in coaching the team for the last four games of the season. The trio will be in charge for their visit to St Helens on Saturday. These two last met in May with the Tigers winning 30-10 on home soil. St Helens have had a lot of injury problems this season, but they will still be disappointed that they are sitting outside the top six with just four games remaining. The Saints are also without a head coach with Eamon O'Carroll still interim coach until Kevin Walters takes over in 2027. St Helens have won 13 of their 23 matches this season and occupy seventh on the ladder, while Castleford are ninth with eight wins all year. Mark Percival returns to the Saints squad following an injury, while youngster Oscar Knox has been drafted in for the first time. The Tigers have made a few new signings ahead of the 21st August transfer deadline with Ben McNamara, Keanan Brand and Lazarus Vaalepu all coming in on loan from the Leigh Leopards - they are all in line to feature at Saints. St Helens have not been great all season, but they hammered Wakefield Trinity last weekend and still have a slim chance of making the play-offs. I cannot see them losing to Castleford, and I am backing them to win by 21-25 points with Jack Welsby, Tristan Sailor and Jacob Douglas all scoring tries.

Super League Round 24 Player Anytime Try Scorer Accas
This is a new section I have added to my rugby league tips. These are some of the personal bets I place each weekend.
