Easter weekend for some rugby league fans is bigger than Christmas. This sounds like a daft statement, but being a Wigan fan I will not sleep on Thursday evening knowing we are facing St Helens at the Brewdog Stadium the day after.
The Good Friday game is a huge event. People are up and out early heading to the pubs and on to the ground. There is a special feel to the day, and on Friday there will be three massive clashes.
First, champions Hull KR host bitter rivals Hull FC at 12:30pm, while Saints and Wigan kick off at 3:00pm and the day will end with Bradford Bulls - back in Super League - taking on Leeds Rhinos at Odsal.
Saturday sees another three matches with Huddersfield Giants - boosted by their first win of the season - taking on York Knights. Warrington Wolves will be looking to bounce back from their first loss when they host Leigh Leopards, while the first French derby of the season takes place with Catalans Dragons hosting Toulouse.
Super League round seven comes to a close on Sunday afternoon when local rivals Castleford Tigers take on Wakefield Trinity at the OneBore Stadium.
On this page, our rugby league expert and published author David Kuzio will attempt to pick out seven winners in his Super League acca, as well as previewing some of the big games of the weekend. See if you agree with him.
Super League 2026 has been difficult to predict this season. There always seems to be one or two shock results that mess up my accas. Last weekend, Bradford losing to a Castleford team that shipped in over 70 points the previous weekend, and top of the league Wigan lost to bottom club Huddersfield Giants completely threw me.
This weekend, I fully expect one shock result to come and bite me. The three games on Friday should be absolute classics. Hull KR finally hit some form last week when they hammered St Helens, and I feel they will be too strong for rivals Hull FC.
St Helens have a lot of injury problems, but they are playing Wigan, so any form goes out of the window. The Warriors should be good enough to beat the Saints, but it will not be as easy as some suggest. The final game on Friday sees Bradford host Leeds. Back in the day, this used to be one of the standout fixtures in the year. It might take a while to get back to that level, but I am going with an away win and Leeds taking two points.
Huddersfield will be lifted by that win over Wigan, but that might have had something to do with them wanting to make amends following the sacking of their coach. I think York will bring them back down to earth. I expect Warrington to bounce back in style. Leigh might have beat Toulouse in Golden Point last Saturday, but they are not firing on all cylinders just yet. Home win for me.
The final game on Saturday is the French derby. Catalans almost completed a great comeback in their loss at Hull FC. I think they will have too much for Toulouse, while I am going with Wakefield Trinity to bring the round to a close with a comfortable win over Castleford Tigers on Sunday.
Hull KR to win - 1/10
Wigan Warriors to win - 4/6
Leeds Rhinos to win – 2/13
York Knights to win - 9/4
Warrington Wolves to win - 7/20
Catalans Dragons to win - 1/5
Wakefield Trinity to win - 13/25

This is a big clash as it pits two teams from the same City battling it out. In my opinion, it is not the biggest Derby in rugby league, but it is mightily close. The Robins are the defending champions and they love to rub it in the faces of their fierce rivals. This is very similar to the Saints v Wigan derby as form goes out of the window. Rovers feel they are far superior to their opponents, while the Black and Whites will be keen to get one over on them. Hull KR have not had the best starts to a title defence, they have lost three of their opening five matches. Hull FC, on the other hand, have played a game more and are three and three. The build up to this game went up a notch when Hull KR coach Willie Peters announced this week that he will be leaving at the end of the season. He will get a great reception from his own supporters, but the away end will no doubt taunt them over losing their greatest ever coach. Hull KR will still be without the likes of Arthur Mourge, Rhyse Martin and Declan Murphy through injury, while Karl Lawton returns from suspension. Hull FC have Cade Cust available after his ban, while Aidan Sezer and Joe Batchelor are both in line for a return in the 250th Hull Derby. It would be great for Super League as a competition if Hull defeated the Robins to mix it up in the City, but I cannot see past a Hull KR victory. Mikey Lewis will be up for this, and he is expected to get a lot of abuse from the away fans, but he thrives on that pressure. I am backing the Robins to win by over 13 points with Lewis and Joe Burgess both scoring at least two tries each.

St Helens versus Wigan Warriors is THE biggest derby in rugby league. Some will argue that it is the Hull Derby - but they would be wrong. Form goes out of the window when these two lock horns. It is more than local pride at stake. Yes, both teams and coaching staff respect each other, but with the fans it is pure hatred. The atmosphere will be electric. It does not matter who wears the jerseys in this game, everyone will give 100% and anything can happen. The Saints saw a four game winning streak come to an abrupt end last Friday when they were hammered 52-10 at the hands of Hull Kingston Rovers. They are still missing the likes Jack Welsby, Matty Lees, Kyle Feldt, Nene MacDonald and Jonny Lomax, but they still have some quality in their side. They have brought in Jordan Dezaria and Bill Leyland on loan from Hull KR, and time will tell whether they will feature. Wigan - who lost their first game of the season against Huddersfield Giants last Saturday - are still without Jake Wardle, Bevan French, Oliver Wilson and Abbas Miski. There is a bit of good news with Jai Field named in the squad for the first time since having his Appendix removed. It might be mind games from Matt Peet and Field might not play, but it will keep Paul Rowley and St Helens guessing until the team is announced. The Saints are down on troops in the pack, and I think Wigan's forwards will be too strong. It will not be a walkover, I am backing Wigan to win by 1-12 points. When it comes to try scorers, I am going with Adam Keighran and Zach Eckersley to score at any time for the Warriors, while I expect Deon Cross to score for the Saints.

Wigan Warriors won back-to-back Grand Finals in 2023 and 2024, before losing their title in last season's Grand Final to Hull Kingston Rovers. The Warriors have not boosted their squad as much as others, but the return of Oliver Partington from Catalans Dragons has added some grunt in the pack. Betfred are backing Wigan to return to Old Trafford for the fourth successive year and regain their Super League title. Do you agree?
