Seven more matches take place in round 9 of Super League this weekend with two games being held on Thursday, three on Friday and two on Saturday with the Warrington Wolves versus Wigan Warriors game on Friday evening the tie of the round.
The Wolves and Warriors are two teams that have the potential to win silverware this season, but they both come into this game on the back of poor performances and will be eager to get back to winning ways.
Thursday sees two games taking place, which is unusual as there is normally on one game. Leigh leopards will be looking to make it back-to-back wins for the first time when they take on Huddersfield Giants - who still have not appointed a new coach following the dismissal of Luke Robinson.
The two bottom teams in Super League will also lock horns on Thursday with 13th placed York Knights hosting bottom club Toulouse. Many people thought these two would be near the bottom of the ladder following their promotion, but they have both brought a lot to Super League. There is only eight points separating Leeds in top spot and Toulouse in 14th position.
Three matches are being played on Friday with Warrington and Wigan taking centre stage. This has the potential to be a brilliant game despite both teams turning out poor second half performances last weekend.
The other games on Friday will see Castleford Tigers looking to build on their amazing win at Wigan when they host Hull FC, while Leeds Rhinos will be aiming to remain top of the Super League ladder when they take on Catalans Dragons.
Hull KR will be looking to inflict more misery on a Bradford Bulls side who have lost their last three games in Super League. The Robins are undefeated in their last four matches in all competitions and they will be confident of continuing their winning streak.
The final game of round 9 sees second place Wakefield Trinity travel to third placed St Helens in what should be an absolute cracker. Trinity normally perform well in some games, but underperform in the big games. There is no real sign of that this season and they could be genuine title contenders. If they win away at Saints, they will fancy themselves in the race to finish top this season.
Our rugby league expert and published author David Kuzio thought he had cracked it with a full house last weekend. He managed to get the first five matches correct with Warrington and Wigan still to play. Unfortunately, both Warrington and Wigan suffered shock defeats and his acca went up in smoke.
Getting a full house in a Super League acca is increasingly difficult this season. All teams are capable of beating each other and no one is running away at the top of the ladder.
Thursday sees Leigh looking to kick on from their first away win of the season when they entertain Huddersfield Giants at the Leigh Sports Village. Both teams have struggled with form and injuries this season, and this has the potential to be a high scoring game with both defences not being at their best. I have to go with home advantage with this one and back a Leigh victory.
The bottom two sides clash on Friday and this is another game that is difficult to call. York and Toulouse are not playing poor rugby league, but the honeymoon period looks to be over I will once again go for a home win, Toulouse have the habit of going behind heavily early on and cannot get back into the game. York need to get at them early on and I expect them to do just that.
Regular viewers to my tips will notice I am a Wigan fan, and for the first time this season I am backing against them. Their recent form has not been great and they will be up against it again on Friday. The Warriors are still without the injured pairing of Jake Wardle and Bevan French, while Harry Smith and Sam Walters are still suspended. Warrington have injury concerns themselves, but I am tipping them to take advantage of Wigan's woes and claim a comfortable win.
The remaining games on Friday have me backing Hull to beat Castleford on the road. Yes, the Tigers are on a high after beating Wigan, but so many times in the past, teams have picked up a shock win and then performed bad the week after. I cannot see the Tigers backing up from last week.
Leeds are the benchmark at the minute, although they do have the potential to be awful as well. When you expect the Rhinos to register a comfortable win, they tend to struggle. The Dragons will give them a game, but Leeds will be too strong in the end with the likes of Lachie Miller, Brodie Croft and Jake Connor pulling the strings.
Champions Hull KR should have no real problems going up against Bradford. The Bulls have had a decent start to Super League, but the Robins are slowly finding their form and Mikey Lewis will be Bradford's chief tormentor in a convincing win.
The final game of the weekend should be a thriller. St Helens are at home against Wakefield. In the past, this would be a home banker and a comfortable one at that. However, Trin are a different animal under Daryl Powell and I feel the Yorkshire side will keep the pressure on leaders Leeds with a hard-fought win at the BrewDog Stadium.

Leigh welcome back star full-back David Armstrong for the first time this season as they look to kick-start their Super League campaign. Armstrong - who was signed in 2025 - missed the majority of last season after suffering an ACL injury. His recovery time spilled over into 2026 and he has been named in the squad for Friday. The Leopards will need a player of Armstrong's ability if they are to push for the play-offs, so hopefully he remains fit and injury free. Huddersfield are still without a permanent coach with interim boss Liam Finn having to call up young winger Lewis Jagger to replace Sam Halsall, who picked up an injury last weekend. The Leopards are currently 10th on the league ladder with six points, while the Giants are two places and two points behind them. The Giants have improved in recent weeks, but I cannot see anything other than a home win for Leigh. A Leigh side with Armstrong, Lachlan Lam, Edwin Ipape and Isaac Liu in it will be too strong. I am backing Leigh to win by 13+ points with Armstrong and Josh Charnley both scoring tries.

When I put my Super League acca together for round 9, I backed Warrington to beat Wigan, because the Warriors have been out of sorts for over four weeks now. However, it has since been revealed that both George Williams and James Harrison will be missing for the Wolves. Williams is out for an indefinite period of time with a neck problem, while Harrison is set to undergo ankle surgery. I also thought Jake Wardle would not be returning just yet – as said by Matt Peet recently – only to find him back in the squad following a knee injury. I will stick with my gut instinct and still back Warrington. I still think the Wolves will win, but it will not be as comfortable as first thought without Williams pulling the strings. I’ll go with the Wolves by 1-12 points. Wigan's problems have not just been because Wardle has been out. He is a great addition to the squad, but it is Bevan French they are missing the most. When it comes to try scorers, I am backing Matty Ashton to score for the Wire and Zach Eckersley to cross for the Warriors.

Third hosts second in Super League on Friday with St Helens taking on Wakefield Trinity. The Saints are currently third on the league ladder with a record of six wins and two defeats. Trinity have the same record from eight matches, but are ahead on the table due to a superior points difference. The home side welcome back Shane Wright after missing two matches due to the HIA protocol, while Nene Macdonald is back after knee surgery and replaces Deon Cross. Wakefield are still without Jazz Tevaga, who serves the second of his two-match ban following indiscretions against Wigan in the Challenge Cup. Max Jowitt and Mason Lino are both out for this game with Ellis Lingard and Will Tate expected to feature. I backed Wakefield to win before the squads were announced, and although I will stick with my original choice, it will be a tough ask for them to do it without Jowitt and Lino. However, they do still have the likes of Oliver Pratt, Cam Scott, Jake Trueman and Jack Sinfield. I will back the Trin to win by 1-12 points, and when it comes to try scorers I am backing Kyle Feldt to score for the Saints and Tom Johnstone to touch down for Wakefield.

Betfred is the principal sponsor of Super League, so it makes sense that they are running a couple of special offers ahead of the opening weekend.
Below is the Betfred offers that will go hand in hand with the start of Super League. These will obviously change each week, but it is a good starting point when it comes to Super League betting sites.
This Betfred offer runs throughout the whole campaign and gives rugby league betting fans a great incentive to get involved. The Double Delight offer sees punters receive double the odds when their selected player scores the opening try of the game and then goes on to score another later in the game.
Wigan Warriors won back-to-back Grand Finals in 2023 and 2024, before losing their title in last season's Grand Final to Hull Kingston Rovers. The Warriors have not boosted their squad as much as others, but the return of Oliver Partington from Catalans Dragons has added some grunt in the pack. Betfred are backing Wigan to return to Old Trafford for the fourth successive year and regain their Super League title. Their recent form has not been great, but they should still be there and thereabouts at the end of the season. Do you agree?
Wigan Warriors to win the 2026 Grand Final - 15/8 @ Betfred
Sky Sports is the main broadcaster for Super League and they promise to show every single game live each week. They will broadcast a main game on their TV channels, but if a game kicks off at the same time on the same day then it will be streamed on their Sky Sports + red button channel.
