Hello racing fans and thanks for joining me again here on Betting.co.uk for a whole new week of racing action. For Tuesday, I have three selections for you to look at, which I’m advising as singles only.
All three selections are on the evening cards, two run at Brighton and then we have one over the sticks at Uttoxeter. I’m hoping they can start us off with some profit to take us into Wednesday and beyond.
Talking of which, there are some really decent Jumps cards coming up towards the weekend, which I’m quite excited about and I’d like to think we are on for a good week.
To start off a new week of selections I have an offer for you from BetUK and it is an absolute cracker! If you bet just £10, you will get £30 in free bets. BetUK is actually one of my favourite bookies to use, as they have a fantastic app, so why not take a look and see what you think.
Willing To Please is a nice six-year-old mare who has been largely consistent in her running and was unlucky when the line came just a tad too soon last time out at Ayr. She came with a dashing late run and could have won had there had been just a few more yards to run. That was over seven furlongs, so the step back up to almost a mile is sure to help her if the same tactics are used.
She hasn’t run at Brighton before, but I see no reason why this track would be an inconvenience to her chances. She is a strong traveller and she has the huge benefit of young star Billy Loughnane in the saddle, who claims a very valuable 3lb off her weight.
Her last run was a big step forward for Willing To Please and trainer Phillip Kirby. On that note, the fact she is one of just two runners he is sending all the way from the Yorkshire Dales down to Brighton also suggests he has huge confidence in this mare, and booking Billy Loughnane for the ride confirms that he is expecting a big run from her. She has a seriously good chance of getting into the winner’s enclosure here in my eyes.
The 7f handicap for the fillies is a nice-looking race, but I think Bonkersinabundance is the one to side with here. She already has a win to her credit here at Brighton and comes into the race particularly well-Handicapped for this step up in trip.
She hasn’t been the easiest filly to train by the looks of things, but she has shown clear signs of ability and relished it here at Brighton last time out. It is significant that Roger Varian sends just this one runner to Brighton and of late that has been a trend worth siding with, so perhaps Bonkersinabundance is his next good thing.
She certainly travels well enough and even though she hasn’t won over seven furlongs previously, she looks like she has turned a corner of late and is more than ready to give it her best shot tomorrow. She will need to prove herself here, but I think she is definitely worth more than a second look.
This is a really tricky Handicap puzzle to solve, but I’ve decided to give Call Me Tara another shot. After falling on her Chase debut, she has been reverted back to Hurdles for tomorrow and she has to have a big chance. Her stablemate, Mulberry Hill, is a good horse, but she has been a little disappointing of late and has a few questions to answer now. Walk Of No Shame poses as the main danger, being largely consistent and likely to give another good account of herself, whilst Komedy Kicks for the Milton Harris team also has to be respected.
However, Call Me Tara could still be open to significant improvement over Hurdles. She shown plenty in Bumpers and has two good wins over Hurdles as well, so this step up in trip should bring out more improvement in her, especially if her breeding is anything to go by.
I must say that I’m surprised Jack Hogan isn’t on board here and rides Mulberry Hill instead, which does beg a few questions. She is highly likely to be ahead of her Handicap mark here and claiming 7lb can only help her cause. This will be a very closely-matched race here between those ones mentioned, but I’m still siding with Call Me Tara.
If BetUK isn’t the one for you, then check out some of the great alternative deals we have right here at Betting.co.uk.
We had a really good weekend in my Discord group chat too, which included winners at 22/1,14/1, 7/1 and 11/2, plus a 9/1 winner on the Golf and a 40/1 place, so the good form is there and I’d like this to continue through the week. Also, I have started a Point-to-Point watch on my Twitter, where I am releasing news on new sales purchases as we slowly but surely start to look forward to the Jumps season.
