Iâm back today with two selections for Wednesdayâs Jumps action over at Uttoxeter. From this point forward, Iâll be focusing much more on National Hunt racing, as we are now just eight weeks away from the start of my Countdown to Cheltenham series.
For tomorrowâs action over the sticks, I do have a potential third selection for the final race of the day, but that will depend on the how the prices pan out, Iâll post this selection on my Twitter if I feel the value is there. Otherwise, Iâm keeping it short and sweet for today and Iâll be back later with my selections for Thursdayâs racing.
Those of you who joined me last year will know that I had some very special guests appearing in my videos in the run up to the Cheltenham Festival and I already have some fantastic guests lined up from the racing world once again, which include Racing Postâs Johnny Dineen and fan-favourite Gavin Lynch. Make sure that subscribe to my YouTube channel to be notified.
For Wednesdayâs Jumps action, I have an offer from Ladbrokes for you. All you need to do is bet just ÂŁ5 and youâll get four ÂŁ5 free bets to use across UK and Irish racing! Now that bundle has to be worth a cheeky fiver!
The opener at Uttoxeter is a fairly low-key race, but that said, but there are a few in here with some substance to their form. Scots Gold, who runs for the Skeltons, had some nice form in 2021 and was off for a year and a half before his comeback at Worcester. He was a bit lacklustre there, but it might well have blown away some cobwebs and a return to his best form would give him a good chance. Definite, running for the Milton Harris team, will need to improve, but this softer surface is quite likely to help him out.
Anyway, I have narrowed this down to two runners, Ten Past Midnight and Rock On Tommy, who both have course and distance wins to their names. Ten Past Midnight was really well fancied to go close at Stratford on his seasonal debut, but he jumped pretty poorly. Naturally, that scuppered his chances and he ended up finishing a moderate 5fifh in a weak event, but he is likely to strip fitter for the run and has some very good form at the track.
So, I think the answer here is Rock On Tommy, running for the Olly Murphy team. He won on heavy ground last time out and even though he has to carry a penalty here, he could well have turned a corner after his last win and still looks very well treated. He won easily enough last time out and a repeat effort would see him go very close, but itâs likely that Ten Past Midnight will push him all the way here and heâll need to be at his best to get the job done.
This Handicap Hurdle is another race where I have a fancy, but also a strong danger and it's important the race goes according to plan for my selection. Mr Yeats is highly likely to go well for the Milton Harris team, who are flying at the minute and heâs a very honest type.
Midnight Glance, for Alan King, ought to come on for this run, but if he is ready to go first time out, he poses a huge danger to the field here, as he has some pretty hot form in the book already. The same could be said for Martin Keighleyâs Kazontherazz, who is a decent enough mare on her day, but we havenât seen her since October.
Anyway, I think Secret Trix has been showing us enough to warrant the vote here. Olly Murphy has just the two runners at Uttoxeter and I think this one can make it a double for the team. Although he will need to improve a touch, thatâs more than possible, based on his last two runs. Midnight Glance is a big danger if returning to form, but Secret Trix could still be on a big upward curve and he has been very strong at the finish on two occasions, which I believe gives him the edge here.
I think the Ladbrokeâs offer is unbeatable, but if you already have an account there, then you can always check out the huge selection of other offers up for grabs right here at Betting.co.uk
