After Poland, Sweden and the Czech Republic refused to play Russia following the invasion of Ukraine, Russia were ultimately excluded from the competition, meaning that Poland were given a bye to the final. Sweden, meanwhile, beat the Czech Republic in extra time with a goal from Robin Quaison.

How do we see this one playing out?

With Lewandowski fit, and given Sweden’s regular time struggles against the Czech Republic at home on Thursday, we can’t see past a win for Poland, who also have home advantage.

Everyone expected this to be a heavyweight showdown between Portugal and Italy. However, North Macedonia upset the apple cart and caused one of international football’s biggest upsets in recent history as they sank the Italians thanks to an injury-time winner from Aleksandar Trajkovski in Palermo. At the same time, Portugal comfortably saw off Turkey with a 3-1 victory in Porto.

What are our predictions for this one?

As great as the continuation of the North Macedonian fairytale might be for the neutral, we just can’t see it happening. We see Portugal winning this, and doing so comfortably.
