Ashton United have submitted a 28-day loan offer for Erling Haaland
Ashton United have submitted an offer for Erling Haaland to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
The Norwegian international is set for six weeks on the sideline during elite football’s upcoming World Cup break.
Ashton, who play in England’s seventh tier, have submitted a 28-day loan for the City striker.
Having netted 23 goals in all competitions so far for City, Haaland has caught the eye of Ashton manager Michael Clegg.
In a statement posted on the Ashton website, Clegg expressed his desire to bring Haaland to the Greater Manchester club:
“It makes sense. Manchester City aren’t playing, we want to help by keeping Erling fit.
“It makes more sense than him playing golf for six weeks.
With City out of competitive action until December 22nd, Clegg believes Haaland can offer his Ashton side a boost in the meantime:
“We think he'll be a great fit, and would slot in our squad dynamic really well.”
City are yet to respond to the offer.
