Saturday marks the end of the National League season, with many permutations still to be decided. The biggest game of them all is undoubtedly Boreham Wood vs Ebbsfleet. The hosts are 21st in the league but know a win against their 19th-placed visitors will see them safe. Anything else, and they are relegated. Unsurprisingly, TNT Sports has selected it as their live game. We have our match preview and best bets below.
After reaching the playoffs last campaign, Boreham Wood have underperformed massively and are now under adverse threat of a shock relegation to the National League South.
Luke Garrard is set to depart the club at the end of the season after nine years at the club. The 38-year-old won't be short of suitors. A run of six defeats in a row prompted the Boreham Wood owners to make this decision. Since then, they've beaten Wealdstone 4-0, Aldershot 3-0 and drew 0-0 at Rochdale - a clear sign that the players are fighting for their beloved manager.
After priding themselves on defensive stability, the Wood will be majorly disappointed in their defensive performances, conceding 73 goals in 45 games. Anything but a win on Saturday will see Boreham Wood relegated.
After storming to the National League South title last year, Ebbsfleet started this year in poor form, ultimately costing hugely popular manager Dennis Kutrieb his job.
Darren Searle was appointed as the new manager and the 46-year-old has transformed the Fleet's fortunes and has them one game from survival. Ebbsfleet were the National League South entertainers last year and have transformed that to this year, with their games averaging 2.9 goals.
A point is enough for the Fleet to stay up, but a Woking loss would keep them up regardless.
As this game is being broadcast live on TNT Sports, Bet365 have offered card markets for this game.
Refereeing this affair is Robert Massey-Ellis. In the 20 games he refereed last season, he averaged 4.75 cards per game.
Boreham Wood are averaging 2.18 cards per home game, while Ebbsfleet are averaging 2.63 per away game.
While the averages are promising enough as it is, the game state should play a massive factor. Both teams are fighting for their lives at the bottom, so we should see a spikey game.
Over 4.5 Cards @1.875
As mentioned, Boreham Wood need a win if they are to survive, while a draw keeps Ebbsfleet up. This should see Boreham Wood start of the front foot, while Ebbsfleet will happy to sit deep and soak up the pressure.
In their last three home games, Boreham Wood have hit 9,7 and 15 corners as they've chased precious wins.
Over 5.0 Boreham Wood Corners @2.00
Over 7.0 Boreham Wood Corners @4.00
Over 9.0 Boreham Wood Corners @9.50
The signing of the prolific Kabongo Tshimanga has boosted the Wood's attacking potency, with the 26-year-old scoring seven goals in 15 games.
He is now in his second spell at Boreham Wood having scored 38 goals across two seasons (2019-2021). A clinical spell at Chesterfield saw Peterborough sign him. However, this move didn't work out so Tshimanga is back at Meadow Park to attempt to steer Boreham Wood to safety.
Kabango Tshimanga To Score @3.0
