Bromley and Solihull Moors will battle it out in the playoff final with the hopes of reaching the EFL for the first time in their respective histories.
After winning the Conference South in 2014–15, Bromley were promoted to the newly renamed National League, where they have been ever since. Last year was their second unsuccessful National League playoff attempt, after coming seventh and losing to Chesterfield in the Semi-Finals.
Unlike their two previous attempts at promotion, The Lillywhites have reached the final. A third-place finish saw them pitted against the electric Altrincham. A second-half fightback saw Andy Woodman's side charge towards a 3-1 win with a final against Solihull Moors as their reward.
Bromley have been excellent all season. While Chesterfield were the frontrunners for the whole season, Barnet and Bromley were the best of the rest in the league. Bromley finished third, boasting the second-best defensive record in the league, conceding just 49 goals - only Southend conceded fewer.
This defensive resilience of Bromley coupled with the clinicalness of legendary striker Michael Cheek make Bromley a force to be reckoned with.
Solihull Moors endured a poor campaign last year, petering to a 15th-place finish. The club took the risk of appointing the relatively inexperienced Andy Whing after his fine work with National League North Banbury. The Moors are certainly reaping the rewards as they finished fifth in the 39-year-olds debut campaign.
After being formed in just 2007, Solihull Moors have yet to taste the Football League. They started in the National League North and remained there since their promotion in 2016. Solihull were extremely close to promotion in 2022, losing to Grimsby in the final.
The Moors have been an entertaining watch thus far this season, scoring 71 and conceding 62, with their games averaging 2.89 goals in the league, while also sweeping past Halifax 4-2 in the Quarter Finals, before demolishing favourites Barnet 0-4 away from home.
The two sides have met three times this season. Bromley held Solihull to a 1-1 draw at Damson Park before demolishing them 3-0 at home in the league. However, Andy Whing's side defeated the Lillywhites 1-2 in the FA Trophy Semi-Final.
Normally, I would do a single bet as my best bet, but since it's the Playoff final, we can have a little bit of fun with a bet builder.
The 32-year-old has had yet another brilliant season. He has scored 21 times in the league - his 11th straight double-digit haul. He also scored in the 3-0 victory in April.
The signing of Tahvon Campbell has been a revelation for The Moors. After scoring six goals in 19 appearances for struggling Wealdstone, Campbell was signed by the Moors. The 27-year-old has nine in 18 and scored in both playoff games thus far.
Bromley are averaging 5.39 corners per game. Solihull Moors are conceding 5.96.
Bromley are averaging 2.17 cards per game, with their opponents receiving 1.91. Solihull Moors average 1.80 cards per game, with their opponents averaging 2.65 cards. Referee James Durkin has brandished 5.14 cards per game this season. The magnitude of the game should see more cards - especially late on.
