This week's match in focus sees Halifax host Wealdstone at the Shay.
Halifax have had a steady start to the season, winning four games, drawing four and losing three, conceding just eight goals - the second-fewest in the league. However, their feebleness in attack will worry manager Chris Millington, with his side scoring just ten goals - the lowest total in the top 18.
Resilient defences and a pragmatic approach to games is what Millington prides himself on, with only promoted Bromley and Southend conceding fewer goals than the Shay last season. A fine run of form to end the season saw Halifax finish in the playoffs, where they lost to defeated finalists Solihull Moors.
Three wins from their final four games saw Wealdstone survive by just four points last season, but they face an arduous task to repeat those heroics this season. The Stones started the season with three losses to Dagenham & Redbridge, Oldham and Sutton respectively, before being denied their first win of the season due to a last-minute Emmanuel Dieseruvwe goal for Hartlepool.
The first win did come next time out at home to AFC Fylde, with a goal from youngster Henry Sandat the only goal in a gritty affair. It has been downhill from here, with three draws and three losses since and Matty Taylor's side now sit second bottom. Like Saturday's hosts, Wealdstone have struggled in front of goal, with only Hartlepool (six goals) scoring fewer goals than their seven.
With 10 goals scored and eight conceded in 11 games, Halifax games have averaged just 1.63 goals, with nine of their 11 games seeing under 2.5 goals - the highest figure in the league.
Wealdstone games have averaged just two goals a game, with The Stones scoring seven goals and conceding 15 in 11 games. Eight of their 11 games have seen under 2.5 goals - the second highest total in the league.
The visitors are expected to travel to the Shay with the intention of not losing, so a backs-to-the-walls performance could be in place. Halifax have found it tough to break down deep blocks, scoring just once against Maidenhead and drawing a blank against Braintree.
The two meetings last year saw under 2.5 goals, with five of the last six head to heads seeing this bet yield a winner.
