While England has easy access to Premier League football, with four or more games often being shown live in a weekend, the National League coverage is lacking, with one televised game a week. In this article we will look at 'National League TV'.
The Vanarama National League's official streaming service is called National League TV. All non-televised Vanarama National League games are broadcast on the service, subject to broadcasting limitations.
Unfortunately, games being played during 'UEFA' blocked hours (3pm Saturday's) are only available outside the UK. Fixtures taking place at other times, such as midweek, are available to view worldwide. Depending on local arrangements, BT Sports games made me made available internationally.
International fans will have the option of buying a season pass, or a pay monthly option.
The broadcasts tend to become available thirty minutes before kickoff, with coverage starting just before kick-off. The package is quite basic, with just single coverage cameras and graphics available. Commentary are the responsibility of the host club.
Luckily, you can cast these games to your TV via Chromecast or Airplay, or via a HDMI cable when streaming on a laptop.
If you have an acceptable-spec tablet or computer that is less than three years old, you can view National League TV on almost any modern browser on practically any modern connected device.
A steady broadband internet connection with a ping of less than 100m/s is required; a minimum of 5MB will do (mobile 3G, 4G, LTE, etc. internet service may be too weak or too erratic to deliver a good service).
A modern compatible and updated web browser, such as Chrome, Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, etc., is required for your computer, tablet, or mobile smartphone device (such as an iPhone or Android smartphone; note that Windows phones, Kindles, and game consoles are not compatible).
Where available, full match replays can be viewed on National League TV from 10.30pm Sunday for weekend games.
While the coverage on National League Tv is well received and is good for the growth of the Non-League scene, the 3pm blackout does restrict the potential.
Do you enjoy National League Tv? Do you agree with the 3pm Blackout?
