Marc White’s Dorking Wanderers side finds themselves in real danger of being relegated from the National League this season and with four games left in 2023/24, Wanderers sit four points adrift of safety, having played two games more than Wealdstone in 20th.
Dorking have seen a plethora of goals scored across their 42 league games so far this season, with 124 netted for a total seasonal average of 2.95 goals per game.
On Saturday, they host Altrincham in what is a crunch clash for both sides. Phil Parkinson’s side can all but guarantee their place in the play-offs at the end of the season. Alty have well overperformed their pre-season expectations and sit fourth in the table, having scored the third-highest goals in the league this season.
In total, there have been 140 goals netted in Altrincham’s 43 league games for an average of 3.26 goals per game. These two sides have faced each other three times since Dorking’s promotion and across those games, there have been 13 goals scored for an average of 4.33 per game.

Two sides who are looking to escape the relegation dogfight with a positive result go head to head as York City welcomes Eastleigh to the LNER Community Stadium.
Adam Hinshelwood’s York side are on a good run of form and are unbeaten in their last four league games. That run of form has seen them climb out of the relegation places and up to 17th place.
The Minstermen have seen a plethora of goals across their 43 league games so far with 120 goals for a total season-wide average of 3.26 goals per game.
Saturday’s opponents Eastleigh are on a mixed run of form currently, having lost three of their last five, winning one and drawing the other.
The Spitfires sit one place above York, level on both goal difference and points. Kelvin Davis’ side have been leaky at the back this season, conceding the second most goals in the league with only already relegated Oxford City conceding more.
The last five meetings between the sides have seen plenty of entertainment, with 12 goals scored for an average of 2.4 goals per game.

Two bitter rivals go head to head in the lunchtime kick-off in the National League as Oldham Athletic welcome Rochdale to Boundary Park.
Both of these sides sit on the fringes of the playoffs, however, both seem to be a pipe dream.
Oldham seems to be the likelier of the two to challenge for the playoffs, but it remains a long shot.
Micky Mellon’s side have been on a poor run of form recently, and currently find themselves seven games without a win in the league, and ultimately that could lead to them missing out on the playoffs, despite massive pre-season hype.
The Latics have struggled at home this season and have more losses than wins on home soil. In their 42 league games in 2023/24, Oldham have seen 112 goals scored for a seasonal average of 2.66 goals per game.
Rochdale are on a mixed run of form themselves, having won three of their last five, drawing one and losing the other. In total, Dale have seen 126 goals scored with an average of 3 goals per game. The reverse fixture earlier in the season saw a 4-3 thriller in Oldham’s favour and chances are Saturday’s game could follow suit.
