After York missed out on promotion last year, despite accumulating 98 points, the National League title race looks to be a tight one again. We look at the top scorers and league table as of 31st December 2025 and the current bookie odds.
(As of 31st January 2025)
York City – 24 GP, 52 pts
Rochdale – 22 GP, 52 pts
Carlisle United – 25 GP, 52 pts
Forest Green Rovers – 25 GP, 50 pts
Scunthorpe United – 24 GP, 49 pts
🏆 Ollie Pearce (York City) — 21 goals ✨
🥈 Matt Rush (Boreham Wood) — 14 goals
🥉 Regan Linney (Carlisle United) — 13 goals
⭐ Emmanuel Dieseruvwe (Rochdale) — 12 goals
⭐ Danny Whitehall (Scunthorpe United) — 10 goals
Rochdale - 2.62
York- 2.75
Boreham Wood- 5.50
Carlisle - 7.50
Forest Green - 13.00
Scunthorpe - 41.00
Boreham Wood are the surprise package in the National League, priced as highly as 200/1 to win it pre-season. Luke Garrard's side have been excellent and look good value for their lead at the top. However, I feel York will stay the course. They have a side littered with promotion experience and have goals in abundance with Ollie Pearce and Josh Stones.
