My vote

STUART MAYNARD

For me, this was always a straight shootout between Jimmy McNulty and Stuart Maynard. Whichever side were champions after such a thrilling battle, should clinch this accolade. Maynard’s impact since coming in to replace Adam Hinshelwood has to be admired, kicking on and getting on an imperious run of results, with goalscoring, front-footed football to boot. York have been mooted to go on and push again in the EFL next season and it’s easy to see why.

National League North

Craig Mahon (AFC Fylde)

My vote

 CRAIG MAHON

An honourable mention to both Ian Watson and John Rooney before getting on to Craig Mahon. Watson, who in his first season in charge has propelled South Shields from mid-table mediocrity to a top-of-the-table side. Rooney, too, has been at the helm in a season where Macclesfield reached the fourth side of the FA Cup, beating Conference League winners, Crystal Palace, before falling short against Brentford. As for Mahon, credit to him for going in with a gameplan, a style of plan, a target, and ultimately, executing it, another thrilling battle between the top two and it’ll be interesting to see how AFC Fylde go on in the National League again.

National League South

Adam Hinshelwood (Worthing) Marc White (Dorking Wanderers) Daryl McMahon (Hornchurch) Lee Allinson (Hemel Hempstead Town)

My vote:

ADAM HINSHELWOOD

Daryl McMahon can count himself somewhat unfortunate to miss out here, too. Hornchurch were a 40/1 chance with the bookmakers before a ball was kicked, so, you can understand why McMahon has been linked with moves higher up. Hinshelwood, however, wow, what a story. To be sacked at York, mid-season, then turn the tables (quite literally) with Worthing, go on a run and win the league in a hugely competitive division, one hell of an achievement.
