Lee Crooks has been confirmed as Wakefield AFC's new head of academy.

Having led the club's Under-23 side, Crooks now steps into the role vacated by Shane Pallett.

Crooks' playing career saw him start out at Manchester City, winning two promotions under Joe Royle and featuring briefly in the Premier League.

He went on to Barnsley, Bradford City and Rochdale before later continuing in non-league.

Crooks also notably joined the RAF Regiment after finishing playing.
