Shaun Gale has been announced as Gosport Borough's new head coach.
The former Havant & Waterlooville boss' arrival comes after previous manager Lee Molyneaux stepped down from his role last weekend. Gosport were 8th in the Southern Premier South before the 2019/20 season was suspended and subsequently deemed null and void.
Former Barnet defender Gale told the club's website: “I am really looking forward to the challenge here. This is a club massively on the up, I think, in part thanks to all the hard work that has been done around the COVID-19 community response project, led by Keith (Slater) and supported by Iain (McInnes).
“On top of that, the new centre of excellence has just been announced, and the renewed partnership with the youth section is also great news. It is now my job to get things right on the field with the first team.
“I’ve been involved in football professionally for 34 years, and last October, when I left Eastbourne, was the first time I hadn’t been involved in the game, until Lee (Molyneaux) asked me to help out in January.”
