At 22 years old, Abdul Abdulmalik has quickly become one of the most exciting young attackers in the National League, turning heads with his pace, creativity, and goal threat for Boreham Wood FC. Wearing the number 10 shirt, the English winger/attacking midfielder has been a key figure in Wood’s push up the table in the 2025/26 season.
Abdulmalik was born on 21 April 2003 in England and developed through the Millwall academy, earning a reputation as a talented youth prospect. During his time with Millwall’s youth sides, he contributed to consecutive Premier League Professional Development League title wins in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, showcasing technical ability and attacking flair at an early age.
Following his release from Millwall in July 2024, Abdulmalik signed for Boreham Wood as a free agent in a move aimed at gaining regular senior football. Before that, he had a spell on loan at Wealdstone, where he gained his first taste of National League football — a vital step in adapting to the physical and tactical demands of the men’s game.
Under manager Luke Garrard, Abdulmalik has flourished. In the current season alone, he has scored 8 goals and provided 2 assists in 24 National League appearances, placing him among the more productive creative players in the division and illustrating his ability to influence games consistently.
His performances have earned him recognition beyond the club. In October 2025, he was named National League Player of the Month after a string of standout displays, including goal contributions against teams like Yeovil Town and Eastleigh, underlining his development as both a scorer and creator.
Statistically, his attacking output places him in strong company: his goal involvement per 90 minutes ranks in the upper percentiles for his position in the league, reflecting his effectiveness in the final third.
Abdulmalik’s rapid rise through the non-league ranks has sparked speculation about his future. Many supporters believe his skill set could see him step up into the English Football League, with clubs reportedly monitoring his progress — a testament to his potential if he continues on this upward trajectory.
