Despite being the favourites for the title last year after their shock relegation from the National League, Scunthorpe bowed out at the playoff stage. Iron were instilled as favourites once again this year, and so far are living up to the favourites tag. Andy Butler's side atop the table, one point clear of Brackley and Kidderminster.

Glanford Park has been a fortress for the Iron this season. They have lost just once at home so far, boasting the second best home record in the National League North. This includes a five-game winning run at home - a run that has cemented them top of the table.

With only 29 goals conceded, Scunthorpe have the best defensive record in the league, while only Kidderminster and Spennymoor have scored more goals.

The signing of Will Evans was seen as a big coup for Iron. The experienced CB had a two year stint at Boreham Wood making 79 appearances, helping them to the playoffs. He has made well over 400 senior appearances and possesses a wealth of experience - something that will be crucial if Scunthorpe are to edge over the line.

Spennymoor

FA Trophy finalists Spennymoor come into this game after shocking National League side Rochdale on penalties to secure their place at Wembley. The Moors have only been in existence for 20 years but have enjoyed a stellar rise up the ranks and have the opportunity to play National League football for the first time in their history.

Graeme Lee's side have won seven of their last eight games and now just one point off the playoffs in an intriguing battle for the top seven. In front of goal, they have been electric, scoring a league high 72 goals.

If Spennymoor are to breach the mean Scunthorpe defence, veteran striker Glen Taylor will be crucial. The 34-year-old has scored well over 100 goals in a seven year spell. He has 18 goals this season.
