After promotion from Step Four last year, Bury have been installed as heavy favourites to win the Northern Premier League Premier Division and climb the leagues back to where they belong. The Shakers have had a mixed start to the season and sit seventh, having taken ten points from five. Bury's fan base and Gigg Lane's impressive size make them very strong at home, and they've won both games in front of their fans, looking to make it three from three.
Lancaster make the trip looking to stay out of the relegation zone, sitting 18th and above Workington and Bamber Bridge on goal difference, with Quorn and FC United further adrift below them all. The Dolly Blues have played two away games so far, losing 4-1 at Ashton United and 3-1 at Redcar.
Cleethorpes came into this league with big expectations last season but perhaps underachieved, finishing ninth. The Owls are looking to improve on that this season and have made good strides towards it. Craig Rouse's side have won 4/5 and sit top of the league unbeaten, having scored 13 goals including 2-0 and 2-1 wins in their two games at the MYENERGI Stadium.
Whitby currently sit 14th with two wins and three losses, conceding 10 goals in the process, including five in a trouncing at home to Warrington. The Seasiders could be in for a long night on the seafront.
Under Ian Richards, Guiseley are playing front-footed, attacking football and reaping the rewards. The Lions currently sit sixth despite a 1-2 loss to Warrington in the opener. Since then they've won three, including wins against title favourites Bury and Curzon, while drawing 2-2 at Workington. With 4/5 of their games seeing at least three goals, over 2.5 looks the bet here.
After sneaking into the playoffs last year and being narrowly beaten by eventual playoff winners Hednesford, Stockton have started the season slowly and sit 17th. Only one of their games so far has gone over 2.5 goals, but against an exciting Guiseley side, expect an end-to-end encounter.
After Quorn's application to stay in the Southern Central Premier Division, the Leicestershire side saw a host of key players depart the club. That's left them sitting 21st, in grave relegation danger. The Methodists are yet to win a game, taking just two points and conceding 11 goals.
Gainsborough sit just outside the playoffs with three wins from five, their only losses coming at home to title favourites Bury and away at recently relegated Alfreton. They've also beaten Workington, FC United and Stockton in the process, scoring ten goals. They should have too much for a depleted Quorn.
Six games without a win to end last season saw Warrington peter out to a 14th place finish, something they're quickly rectifying this year. The Yellows sit just behind Cleethorpes on goal difference, with four of their five games seeing at least three goals, all of them victories. The exception was a 1-1 draw against Cleethorpes in an entertaining game.
Curzon Ashton, surprisingly relegated from the National League North, have started slowly and sit 16th despite retaining a key core. Nash have taken just one point since their opening day win over Alfreton. Since then they've lost three, with a disappointing 2-2 draw against Bamber Bridge squeezed in between. Both sides have seen a combined 8/10 games go over 2.5.
