We’ve scoured Oddstorm’s website to check out what it has to offer and applied all of our betting experience to come up with some ideas about who it’s best suited to and how to use it to make some money.

Purpose

This service is great for the shrewdies amongst you and at Oddstorm sure bets, middles, and Asian lines are all available. Whether you’re looking to back a single outcome to lay it on an exchange or cover all outcomes, what it all boils down to ultimately though is finding value with the bookmakers.

There’s plenty of data available on Oddstorm to help you achieve this, with listings for both pre-match and in-play bets. Either can be displayed as a table of odds from numerous bookmakers, but the real purpose of this site is to do all the hard work for you and pick out the arbitrage opportunities in order to earn you some guaranteed profit.

Arbitrage opportunities can be listed according to type and then further filtered depending on such factors as their profitability,, number of legs and which bookmakers you want to use. From an initially massive amount of information that Oddstorm is importing, you can pick out the bits that are just right for you, ensuring that your bets are personally tailored to your own requirements.

Service Overview

Finding a profitable match to bet on is only the first step in the process though – we also have to establish a staking plan and actually get the bets on in order for the whole thing to work. In this respect, Oddstorm simplifies the whole process by automatically bringing up a calculator which will work out the stakes needed to cover each outcome and lock in a profit. A little bit of betting savvy can come in useful here to try and not draw unwanted attention from the bookies as it’s not always a good idea to follow the suggested stake to the penny. Betting £20.21 rather than a flat £20 is likely to get you flagged as an arber more quickly, but once the calculator has given you the stakes needed for exactly even profits it doesn’t take much more effort to come up with a rounded amount to help you sneak under the radar.

At the moment the only sports covered are football and E-sports, although there have been suggestions in the past that there are plans to add other sports. It would be a better product if more sports were included but there are football listings from leagues all over the world, each with a comprehensive list of markets.  There’s always something to pick from as matches are monitored for value both pre-match and in-play, which is something that not all arbing services offer.

Oddstorm can be used as a website or a downloaded app, and one of its best features is that you don’t have to be glued to your screen to use it. Having set your filters, you can request an alarm to sound every time a new bet is found matching your criteria, leaving you free to do your own thing until it’s time to get the bets placed.

If you’re familiar with arbitrage and matched betting you’ll breeze through this, but help is at hand if you’re trying this out for the first time. An arbitrage e-book is available at no extra cost and there’s an Oddstorm Youtube channel with several videos.

Costs

There are many different subscription options based on what type of arbs you want, and also a two tier system:  VIP and VIP+ which populates bet slips for you and is said to catch 30% more arbs. The different costs are too numerous to list here but what we can say is that it’s pretty expensive in comparison with some other arb services – such as our OddsMonkey review. Prices range from €7 for a single day of pre-match bets to €3510 for a year of the top level service.

That subscription cost is a fair wedge so let’s take a moment to look at what level of activity you would need in order to be able to cover these costs and still emerge with a profit. If you took the option of one month at VIP level for both pre-match and in-play bets, your break-even point would be + €295 from your bets. If we suppose you make an average of 5% ROI on your arbs, that would mean that you would need to stake €5900 to cover your costs.

In the right circumstances, it’s not impossible to stake that much and to that end it’s worth doing some reading around the subject to see how to keep your bookmaker accounts active. However, you should be sitting down to do some maths and being honest about how much you are going to be able to stake before you get started.

Community and Customer Service

On its website Oddstorm says “one of the major OddStorm goals is its customer support.” So we decided to test that out – we sent an email with a simple question about the Oddstorm bookmakers, and we’re pleased to say that a helpful response came back inside 24 hours.

Help is available to subscribing members in the form of live chat support and membership of the VIP+  service gets you access to the Skype contacts of Oddstorm staff.

There’s no forum on the site but for those of you looking to learn more about arbitrage, there’s a blog with several helpful articles. For example, the most recent one talks about the value of backing one single outcome with a bookmaker and laying it on an exchange rather than using several bookies to cover all outcomes. If you do plan to use an exchange then it’s worth considering getting some trading software, and we have further info on that if you want to take a look at the Betangel cost for example.

Usability

So hopefully you get the idea of how Oddstorm is supposed to work, but in practice how easy is it to use? The first thing to say is that it’s a busy home page with a lot of text, so it’s best viewed on a desktop monitor rather than a mobile. The tabs at the top of the screen make it easy to navigate around, but most pages still have lots of information on them so again it’s not especially suited to a small screen. Once you find a match you like the look of though it’s a doddle to just click on it and all the stats you need pop out into the calculator so you can quickly see your staking plan.

It’s worth mentioning that on its home page, Oddstorm says that it gathers odds from 72 different bookmakers. When we used the odds comparison service for a recent Man Utd v Liverpool game though, two hours before kick off there were only 32 bookmakers listed. Whether this is a glitch or potentially a different number of bookies are used for arbing versus the comparison service is unclear. However, it’s worth taking a look first to check that the bookies you want to see listed are actually there before committing to anything.

Comparison Versus Manual

There’s no doubt that arbitrage can be a nice little earner but there is a certain amount of effort that needs to go into generating the profit. It’s true that you can hunt down your own arbing opportunities for free but trawling through long lists of odds and then converting them into percentages is a time consuming process. What you’re paying for with Oddstorm sure bets is to have all that work done for you and to have profitable arbs served up on a plate. The customisation options mean that you can log in and have the arbs that are relevant to you available within seconds, and if you’re serious about arbing that information is worth paying for.

Remember as well that the VIP + membership gets you automatic population of bet slips, reducing the amount of effort on your part even further. It’s a small benefit with pre-match bets but for in-play betting that’s huge and getting your money on before a goal goes in and ruins your day is really important.

It’s worth shopping around to see what different arb services there are out there (for example why not try out this Betslayer promo code) but what you’ll find is that it’s the in-play bets that set Oddstorm apart from many competitors.

Cautions

However much arbitrage betting might seem like easy money, you do need to exercise a bit of caution. Even the best arbers get banned or limited so it’s worth learning how to keep your accounts with the bookmakers active.

Seeing as there’s a subscription cost to cover, it might be tempting to just start betting on every match that the software comes up with but quite honestly that’s not the ideal approach. The best arbs are ones that look just like bets from regular punters so if you can get on an English Premier League match odds bet this is a great pick. Vietnamese second division games? Worth swerving really.

A further word of warning is that not all the Oddstorm bookmakers listed will be available to you. Many don’t operate in certain countries and UK customers will certainly see odds listed that they won’t be able to access, so again a little research will go a long way here.

Conclusion

So is using Oddstorm profitable? The answer is yes it can be, but like many products you have to know how to use it correctly and in fact there are a couple of ways you could use this service. It has value as an odds comparison tool as you’ll find bookmakers listed here that you won’t see on some other comparison sites. Betfair exchange prices are listed as well so it’s a simple job of finding something that can be backed at a bigger price than it can be laid.

Alternatively, it can be used as an ongoing source of Oddstorm sure bets as there’s always football being played somewhere in the world. You’d need to have multiple clean accounts across a range of bookmakers, but it is possible. That might change over time if your accounts get gubbed and you’d need to adjust your strategy but that is the nature of the arbing game. Remember that bookies only want you to have an account if they think they will profit from you, rather than the other way round.

That’s all there is for now in this Oddstorm review. All that remains is for you to hunt down some value, and once you’ve got your football bets on with Oddstorm why not take a look at profiting from horse racing with this Each Way Sniper review?

Oddstorm Review FAQ

🌐 Does Betfair allow arbitrage?

Betting exchanges are different to traditional online bookmakers, as users of the exchange bet against one another rather than against the house. The exchange makes its money by charging a small percentage on winning bets. Betfair is the biggest betting exchange and you can find out more about it in our guide to exchanges

❓How do I not get banned from bookies?

Arbitrage betting is unwelcome at most bookmakers, and it’s common practice for bookies to close or limit accounts that are suspected of doing this. Consequently, arbitrage bettors have had to find ways of preventing their bets from standing out when traders review accounts. This list of tips will help you learn how to keep your accounts active for longer

🏐 Where can I find arbitrage bets?

It’s possible to find arbitrage bets yourself for free, although it requires a sound understanding of betting odds and the maths behind them. There are also services that offer arbitrage bets to customers. Some are free although the best require a paid subscription. Cast an eye over some of our reviews to find one that suits you
