Who are Brighton & Hove Albion? The back story

Brighton and Hove Albion were established in 1901 and currently play at the Falmer Stadium in, you guessed it, Brighton.

Since their inception, Brighton and Hove Albion have been up and down the football leagues, and most recently were in the Premier League following their promotion in 2017.

Some of the honours currently to Brighton’s name include the 3 League One titles they won in the 1850s, 2000s, and 2010s, the Community Shield they won in 1910, and the 14 Sussex Senior Challenge Cups they have in their trophy cabinet. They were also runners up in the FA Cup in 1983.

Brighton has a number of legends who’ve donned their famous blue and white stripes over the years, including Tommy Cook, Bert Stephens, Glenn Murray, and Bobby Zamora.

Brighton’s biggest rivals in football are, rather surprisingly, London-based Crystal Palace, who they play against in a derby nicknamed the M23 Derby. This fixture has been played 105 times since 1920 and has been a closely fought contest between both teams in the intervening 100+ years.

An interesting, slightly odd fact about Brighton and Hove Albion is that in 1992, they played a friendly against the New Zealand national team. They lost 2-0 in front of 600 fans.

Plan ahead with latest fixtures for Brighton & Hove Albion

With Brighton appearing in the league, FA Cup, and League Cup every season, it’s going to be difficult for even the most die-hard of fans to remember every single match that the Seagulls have coming up over the course of the season.

Thankfully, we here at Betting.co.uk will have an up-to-date list of all of Brighton’s upcoming fixtures, which will be continually updated the further into competitions the Seagulls go (or if dates are switched around by the league).

Knowing what the fixtures for Brighton and Hove Albion are will not only help you figure out who they’ve got next, but will also help you plan your bet better. Have Brighton got one of the top six away next weekend? Or are they playing in the M23 Derby against Crystal Palace? If so, do you think that it’s worth wagering on them to blow the Eagles away? Or is it better to wait until next week?

Using our regularly updated fixture list, you’ll be able to plan your bets perfectly!

Of course, we don’t just focus on the Brighton and Hove Albion remaining fixtures here at Betting.co.uk. This site is also where you’ll find a list of Burnley fixtures, Chelsea fixtures, and many other team’s fixtures too!

Get an edge with Brighton & Hove Albion news

We know how important it is for fans to be kept up-to-date with any news stories that may be released about their club, which is why we also have a dedicated Brighton and Hove Albion news now section, where all breaking news stories can be found at a moment’s notice.

Our betting experts here at Betting.co.uk understand how much of an impact certain news stories can have on a player/club and their overall form. A negative news story about a club or player could have a hugely negative effect on their performance the next time they’re playing, which isn’t going to be good news for you if you’ve wagered on them to win!

Then again, a negative news story may spur the Seagulls on to victory! It really could go both ways.

That’s why it’s super important that you always keep up to date with what’s going on at Brighton and Hove Albion, and all the other teams that you bet on.

Thankfully, you can do just that right here at Betting.co.uk! Our experts spend hours every day looking for news on the Seagulls. Rest assured, you’ll be one of the first people to hear about any breaking news that may come out of the seaside club this season!

We’ll also keep you updated with all the latest Fulham news, Leicester news, and every other team’s news too!

The inside track on Brighton & Hove Albion transfer talk

Some people love transfers, whilst others hate them and consider transfer talk to be nothing more than irritating gossip. Whatever your views on it are, you must admit that it’s a hugely important part of football, especially these days.

Brighton and Hove Albion transfer news can, like news in general, have a big impact on the team’s performance, especially if the transfer news in question is about the team’s star player wanting to leave and join a list of European football teams on the continent. Negative transfer news like that could cause Brighton to play poorly in their next match, which won’t do you any good if you’ve included them in your acca!

But then again, if the Seagulls are linked with an exciting prospect, this good news could buoy the team to perform even better next time they’re out on the pitch.

This is why, again, it’s so important that you do your research before you start wagering on a team to win. In this case, brush up on your Brighton and Hove Albion transfer news before you start betting on them to win big next weekend.

You’ll find all the Brighton and Hove Albion transfer news you need, right here at Betting.co.uk, you can be assured of that!

Brighton & Hove Albion injury concerns and suspended players

Injuries can make or break a team’s season, and that’s even more so the case with some of the smaller teams who perhaps don’t have the impressive squad depth that teams like Manchester City, Chelsea, or Liverpool have at their disposal.

The last thing any team wants is for one of their key players to pick up an injury that will leave them on the sidelines, or for their best defender or midfielder to pick up too many yellow cards and have to miss next week’s important fixture.

Injuries and suspensions can also play a big role in you deciding whether you’re going to back Brighton and Hove Albion to win this week, or whether you’re going to bet on them being on the receiving end of a drubbing.

Here at Betting.co.uk, we’ll provide you with regular updates on any Brighton injuries and suspensions, all season long. We’ll also let you know of any concerns regarding minor Brighton injuries that may have been brought up in the manager’s weekly press conference, and we’ll let you know who’s likely to play, and who’s facing a late race to get fit before matchday.

As well as Brighton, we’ll have news on all other team’s injuries and suspensions too. So if you want to know what the Everton injuries are like, or who’s currently suspended at Southampton, then you’ve come to the right place.

Get the betting odds lined up

As well as news on transfers, injuries, suspensions, and fixtures, we’ll also be providing you with betting tips surrounding Brighton and Hove Albion too.

Odds for Brighton to get relegated - Don’t take any offence, Brighton fans! During the late twentieth century and early twenty-first, the Seagulls were up and down the football leagues like a yo-yo, so it’s not a stretch to say that they may one day go back down again. Unfortunately, the boys in white and blue are always relegation candidates when they’re in the Premier League, so it’s always worth noting how much you’d potentially get if you’re going to bet on them to go down, even if you don’t exactly want to.

Brighton odds - Another factor you’re going to be interested in throughout the course of a season as a betting fan is the Brighton odds. Every game week we’ll have the latest Brighton odds for you, and we’ll always point you in the direction of the best operator or deals! We’ll give you odds for every competition Brighton are in too, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup, and, if they qualify, Europe too.

Other news to keep you informed

Some other things you’ll find here at Betting.co.uk include:

Live scores - Maybe you can’t make it or watch the latest Seagulls game, so you’ll be wanting the latest Brighton score today. Or maybe you’ve got other teams in your acca too, so you’ll be wanting to keep up to date with Crystal Palace scores, or Everton scores, or even scores from lower leagues. Whatever you want to know, you’ll find it right here!

Stats - Research is a really important part of sports betting, and what better way to research than to pore over Brighton’s stats and previous results. The stats will give you a much better idea of how Brighton are performing, and whether or not it’s worth sticking some money on them to win their next match.

League tables - Another thing you should research before you wager is where Brighton are currently in the league table. You can also use this feature to see where their opponents are too. Are Brighton playing a team from the top or bottom half of the table? Do your research and wager accordingly!

Conclusion - keep coming back to stay in the loop

It doesn’t really matter whether you’re the biggest Brighton and Hove Albion fan on the planet, or just a fan of sports betting, everything you will ever need to know about the Seagulls can be found right here at Betting.co.uk.

The information you’ll find here will go a long way towards helping you decide what to do with Brighton when it comes to betting on them this season. By researching the stats, checking out the latest news and transfer gossip, and keeping up to date with the latest injury concerns, you’ll be able to come to an informed decision as to whether you’re going to back Brighton for the win, or stick a bet on them to go down!
