Who are Sheffield United? - A brief introduction
Sheffield United are a football team who play in the Championship League, the second tier of the English football pyramid. They play out of Bramall Lane, Sheffield where the club was founded back in 1889 as a subsidiary of Sheffield United Cricket Club. They are nicknamed the Blades, as a result of Sheffield’s history in the steel production industry.
The Blades also compete in the Steel City derby, which is one of English football’s oldest and most famous rivalries.
