After another round of domestic league fixtures, the second international break commences this week. This break marks the halfway stage of the European World Cup qualifiers, and for today’s betting tip, we’ll be focusing on the fixture between Andorra against England in Group I.
Though they have struggled in group I, Andorra did pick up their first victory of the World Cup qualifiers during the last international break. They defeated San Marino on matchday four, but they were defeated by England and Hungary in their follow up games.
Though little is known about Andorra on the national stage, they have plenty of experience in their squad. The majority of the squad have played more than 30 times for their nation and captain Ildefons Lima is likely to make his 133rd appearance against England on Saturday.
As for England, they have had a 100% record so far in World Cup qualifying. They had won five of five before their draw with Poland in the final game of the last international break. But despite this draw, England are comfortable enough entering the second international break of the season.
However, the squad has seen wholesale changes. Midfielder Jude Bellingham is out and James Ward-Prowse is in. Further changes include Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori, and Ollie Watkins returning after being absent from the Euro 2021 squad.
Unsurprisingly, England has had the better of Andorra on every occasion. The two nations have met five times, with England winning on every occasion, and sometimes by a hefty margin. This perfect record was added too when the two met in September. England won 4-0 at Wembley with two goals from Jesse Lingard, and one each from Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.
England should win this fixture against Andorra. However, they should also win by a comfortable deficit considering the strength of the two sides involved. It isn’t clear who Southgate will start but they should dispatch Andorra despite being away from home. Therefore, we’re suggesting England to win to nil, Over 3.5 goals, and England to score in both halves with Ladbrokes at 5/4.
