The race for the Premier League is starting to heat up and Arsenal are in with more of a chance as they trail leaders Liverpool by just two points.

Brentford are not yet safe from relegation, but they know victory over the Gunners would not only blow the title race wide open, but it would also put a lot more pressure on the teams below them.

Arsenal are third on the league ladder, but their form has been sensational in recent weeks. They have won eight league games in succession, and they last tasted defeat away at Fulham at the end of December.

They have been unplayable at times since the turn of the year. In their last five Premier League matches, the Gunners have scored 24 goals and conceded just two.

Arsenal have not conceded more than one goal since that defeat against Fulham. Their defence has been great this season and that could ultimately help them win the title.

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli both came off in their 6-0 win over Sheffield United, but they are both expected to feature against the Bees.

Brentford are in 15th position with 26 points. They are only six points clear of the drop zone, but with Ivan Toney back following his lengthy suspension, they should still have enough to remain in the Premier League next season.

The Bees have won just one of their last five Premier League matches. They ended a three-game losing streak last time out with a battling 2-2 draw at home to Chelsea.

Toney is key to what Brentford do. Since he returned from his ban, the former Newcastle United and Barnsley striker has scored four goals, and he is more than capable of causing the Gunners a lot of problems.

Defender Ethan Pinnock is still nursing an ankle injury, while Bryan Mbeumo, Kevin Schade and Rico Henry have not been cleared to return.

Head to Head

The Gunners recorded a narrow 1-0 win when these two met in November with Kai Havertz scoring the only goal of the game in the 89th minute.

Arsenal have won seven of their 17 meetings with three of them coming on home soil. The Bees have won at Arsenal just once.

That only victory for Brentford came in 1938 with the Bees winning 2-0.

Arsenal have won four of their last five meetings in all competitions with one game ending in a 1-1 draw.
