Bournemouth welcome current Champions Manchester City to Dean Court on Saturday and it’s going to be a tough task for the home side this week. Manchester City have found their form in recent weeks and they will be desperate to keep up the chase on the current league leaders Liverpool and they have opened up at 2/5 to win away from home this weekend.
Bournemouth however are 6/1 to win at home, but they haven’t exactly been in the best form of late and will need to be at their very best if they are to take anything from this game. I have a betting tip for this fixture, but let’s take a look at the two teams first of all.
Bournemouth haven’t won in the Premier League since Boxing Day and they are really going to need to find a big performance out of nowhere if they are to trouble the current champions this weekend. Bournemouth aren’t playing bad football as such, they are picking up the odd point here and there, but this is going to be the toughest task for them that they face at home all season and they look up against it.
Manchester City are really starting to fire now and I think they are going to run riot on Bournemouth this weekend. Since Kevin De Bruyne has come back into the squad they have look very solid and they are getting better as the season goes on. Now that they have fully fit midfield again, Manchester City are looking back to something like their best.
The head to heads don't get much more one sided than the record between these two sides. In the 17 meetings between these two teams Manchester City have won 15 and drawn 2 which just enhances the size of the task Bournemouth face this weekend.
I think if you look at both teams here there is a clear difference between the quality of the two sides and it is hard to see Bournemouth getting anything out of the game. Manchester City are 4 points behind Liverpool and are going to want to close that gap this weekend. They can’t afford any slip ups, and the stats are very much against Bournemouth so I can only see this going one way.
Now that we have taken a look at the two sides it is quite clear that Manchester City are the team to beat but there is no real value in their 2/5 price tag. For this reason I am going to use the correct score market to make my prediction for this weekend’s fixture in the search of a bigger price.
I always like to try and make a case for the underdogs, but that has been difficult with Bournemouth not only based on current form, but also the history between the two teams. Bournemouth have never beaten Manchester City and right now the current champions are really starting to find their groove so I see no reason why Bournemouth should take anything out of this game.
I simply think it’s just a case of how many goals for Manchester City and with a full squad, they could run riot here against Bournemouth. I can see Manchester City scoring early and if they do, they will just go on from there in cruise control. I would take a chance on two bets here. You can get 14/1 on a 4-0 win, and 33/1 on a 5-0 for the champions, and I’d be happy backing both at those prices. I think they offer tremendous value this week.
