Ben Whittaker will be looking to move one step away from fighting for a World Title when he takes on Conor Wallace at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham on Saturday in an IBF Light Heavyweight Title Final Eliminator.

The Wolverhampton fighter is undefeated as a professional with 12 wins and one draw. The draw happened in his ninth bout against Liam Cameron in Saudi Arabia. Since then, he has won four straight fights - including a rematch against Cameron. In those fights, not one of them entered the third round.

Whittaker is seen a brash, cocky and arrogant fighter, but the truth is he can box and has tremendous power. I have seen him described as a 'Teemu Prince Naseem' which is quite funny.

In my opinion, he does not need to be over the top and in your face. He is a very good boxer, who would succeed without all the shenanigans. I have a feeling he will only ever really have support from the Midlands because he is not seen as a likeable fighter at the moment. This could change if he becomes world champion.

Whittaker's last fight took place on June 27 2026, where he stopped Ricard Rivera in the second round at the Barclays Cemter, Brooklyn, New York.

Whittaker, who is ranked 2nd by the WBC, 4th by the WBO and 3rd by the IBF, takes on Wallace who is ranked number 2 by the IBF and WBO.

This is a step up for both fighters really. The bout is scheduled for 12 rounds. Wallace has only fought at this length once before, while this will be the first time Whittaker will have fought for 12 rounds - if it lasts that long obviously.

The length of the fight will not really bother Whittaker, because he will be aiming for an early night. Six of his nine KO wins have occurred before the start of the fourth round.

Wallace will be a tough test for Whittaker, but I am backing the brash Brit to come through this test with flying colours. Whittaker will want an early stoppage, I think he will win by KO or TKO, but he will have to work for it. I am going with Whittaker to stop Wallace in the seventh round.
