Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Boxing Betting Tips & Preview
It feels like we have been in a loop for a long time asking the question ‘Will Fury fight AJ?’. This question has been asked for over a decade, but it has been revealed that the two will meet later this year, the date and venue finally revealed.
Turki Al-Sheikh teased before the fight that there would be a big announcement after Tyson Fury’s comeback fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov. After Fury had his hand raised with a unanimous points decision win in his first fight in over 16 months, the Gypsy King took to the mic and called out Joshua – who was conveniently sat at ringside.
Live on the Netflix broadcast, Fury said:
“16 months out is not a short time, it's a long time. I got back to my sliding in there, I got a sharp 12 rounds. I got a good 12 valuable rounds in there.
"I took out the No 5 contender in the world with ease.
"Next, I want to give you the fight you've all been waiting for. I want you, AJ, Anthony Joshua. Let's give the fight fans what they want - the Battle of Britain. I challenge you Anthony Joshua to fight me the Gypsy King next.
"Do you accept my challenge?"
It was like a WWE Premium Live Event with everything seemingly scripted. Joshua sat there and refused to get in the ring, but he did have some words for the Gypsy King.
He said on the mic:
"Tyson, you are a clout-chaser. I've never had no problem getting in a ring with you, I punched you up as kids, watching you tonight I'll punch you up again.
"With all due respect, tonight is your night. You won't tell me what to do. I've been chasing you the last 10 years, when you're ready you come and see me and tell me your terms and conditions. I'm the boss, you work for me. I'm the landlord. You work for me."
It all seemed too false, but Eddie Hearn has taken to Social Media to state that contracts have been signed. He wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of himself and AJ:
"Signed, sealed, delivered! AJ v Fury is on!"
Since the pantomime described above, both men have had warm-up fights. Fury took on Mariusz Wach in Thailand and the latter retired on his stool at the end of the seventh round.
Joshua's fight against Kristian Prenga, and although the fight lasted less than six minutes, it was more entertaining than Fury's effort. AJ was knocked down twice in the first round, before ending Prenga in the second with a brutal knockout that sent him through the ropes.
We cannot take too much from both fights, but we do expect a war or words in the next few months. Having seen footage - I cannot really say highlights - of Fury's fight and the AJ fight, Joshua looks the one more ready for the fight, but Fury has a way of fooling us that he is a clown and he then gets the job done when it matters.
Whatever happens, the next few months will be interesting with Fury and AJ mouthing off at every given opportunity.

In my personal and professional opinion, I think Fury wins. The Tyson Fury that will be in the ring against Anthony Joshua is not the same guy who fought Wach.
Fury will be ready for this fight, he has wanted this for a long time. The Gypsy King wants to be known as the greatest fighter in British boxing history. I’m not sure if Joshua is too bothered about that.
I though Joshua had lost his killer instinct, but the way he got up off the canvas to knockout Prenga was impressive. However, I think Fury will be too smart. AJ will go for an early knockout, and Fury will play around with and keep him out of reach.
I am backing Fury to beat Joshua on points. I would not be surprised if both fighters were knocked down, but I cannot see a stoppage. Fury by decision is the way to go for me.

Fury versus AJ will be held at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on December 11. The main stumbling block has been the venue and country that this fight would be taking place in. There had been talk about it being in America, but Eddie Hearn insists Joshua has fought the hardest to get it on in the UK for British boxing fans.
No official ring walk time has been announced yet, with reports that it will start in the early hours of the morning to accommodate US audiences.
